FRESHMAN SEASON • 2009
Thrown into a challenging role right away, becoming a starter as a true freshman... started nine games, competing in all 11... was one of 15 true freshmen to play, and 10 true freshmen to get starts... had 49 tackles to rank fifth on the team... had one sack, one interception and seven pass breakups on the season... had a season-high nine tackles against UC Davis (10/24)... made five tackles, two pass breakups and an interception against Southern Oregon (9/12)... had seven tackles and a sack against Northern Arizona (10/17).... six tackles and four pass breakups in the season finale at Idaho State (11/14).

PREVIOUS TO PORTLAND STATE
Lettered in football at Aldine High School in Houston... rated in the top 100 in Houston prep football... named second team All-District as a senior... a track athlete who runs the 400 meters in 51 seconds.

2009 Season: Started all 11 games during the season to increase his streak 23 games…ranked third on the team with 68 total tackles…that mark included 39 solos…also had one intereption and two pass breakups…led the team by forcing three fumbles…opened the season with a career high 13 tackles at UNLV…had at least three stops in each of the remaining 10 games despite being plagued by a shoulder injury which was suffered at Cal Poly in the second week…was one of five players to start all 11 games on defense…partnered at safety with Zach Schrader for each of those contests.

2008 Season: Named honorable mention all-Big Sky as a true freshman…was the only member of the secondary to start all 12 games…played the first 10 games at cornerback before moving to safety for the final two…led the team with four interceptions…ranked third on the team with 76 total tackles…had three games with at least 10 tackles to lead the team…recorded 11 stops against Montana State and had 10 against Northern Colorado and Weber State…had at least two tackles in all 12 games…returned an interception 15 yards for a touchdown in the win against Portland State…also led the team with seven pass breakups.
