Me, I'm already countin' a "W" for that weekend. UNI will just have to mail it in.

...or do they go 0-10 against Mark Farley and his fleet-footed feline marauders?

I say YSU beats UNI before UNI beats Iowa...............

Re: Is This The Year YSU FINALLY Beats UNI??????
And both will probably occur before NDSU ever beats a BCS team again.Gil Dobie wrote:I say YSU beats UNI before UNI beats Iowa...............

Re: Is This The Year YSU FINALLY Beats UNI??????
It could happen, but if they are starting 2 freshman linebackers (even if they are from Florida), then NO.
Re: Is This The Year YSU FINALLY Beats UNI??????
Depends what the wager is. It's a rather uneven matchup as far as numbers go, since UNI is only slated to play Iowa twice more (2012, 2014) in the next 5 years (and who knows when the next one will be after that), while NDSU will probably play a BCS opponent once every season.Gil Dobie wrote:Care to wagerJayJ79 wrote: And both will probably occur before NDSU ever beats a BCS team again.

I think we go 5-1 at home.. We lose to either UNI or SIU...
Youngstown wants to see UNI and BEAT UNI!

Worth noting they definitely do not want to see NDSU

Re: Is This The Year YSU FINALLY Beats UNI??????
Random question for YSU fans.
Is UNI considered a rival to YSU fans?
To some UNI fans YSU is a rival, but to a majority of UNI fans it seems as though YSU is a "rival", much like Illinois State.

If we had a "big" rival in football, it would without a doubt be UNI. I wouldn't go so far to say arch rival since this is the only sport we play in, but in football, yes you are our biggest rival.UNI31f wrote:Random question for YSU fans.

What makes a rival? Theoretically all MVFC schools are rivals. SDSU fans want to beat everybody. Everybody else should want to beat SDSU. I hope UNI gets beat by everybody else. I hope SIU gets beat by everybody else. I hope NDSU never wins another game in it's history. And I imagine vice versa.
But, step outside of our conference I want every MVFC team to win.

Well you see, YSU is 0-10 over the past ten years against UNI and rarely faired well against them under Tressel, so we do have some reasons WHY we think they are our rival.Theee Catrabbit wrote:What makes a rival? In addition some of our largest crowds ever were against UNI.

Or 2008 where your announced attendance was over 15K, but from asking anyone that was there there may have been more UNI fans than YSU fans there...and probably less than 5 or 6K there total.guinzone wrote:Well you see, YSU is 0-10 over the past ten years against UNI and rarely faired well against them under Tressel, so we do have some reasons WHY we think they are our rival.Theee Catrabbit wrote:What makes a rival? Re: Is This The Year YSU FINALLY Beats UNI??????
2008 was empty. Since it was Homecoming a lot of seats were sold prior to the game, but because the weather was just horrible with a cold rain, no one showed for a BAD 4-8 team that lost to UNI 21-20!
That alone should tell you it's a rivalry, or at least YSU thinks that way. YSU was probably 20+ point underdogs in that game and nearly pulled it out.

20 point dogs at home, on homecoming, playing a team that is starting their backup QB who was a freshman at that point?guinzone wrote:2008 was empty.
