Re: Very early conference and national title predictions
That's just a silly statement. They won their first NC before he was there and only got it twice when he was. As good as he was, he wasn't the whole team. My money says they make a good run...again. App always finds a way.

I don't want to start the thread or anything, but, I'll contribute a TXST cap to the pot.Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:Shouldn't we be gettin' a pick the conference champs thread goin' soon? I would start it, but I'm too poor to contribute prizes right now.

Re: Very early conference and national title predictions
Liberty beats Stony Brook on the final day of the regular season in a shootout to win their third outright Big South title in four years and earn their first playoff berth in school history. They win in the first round in front of the largest crowd in Liberty history and fall in the second round.

We don't know. That's how screwed we are.TigerStripe wrote:Who's his replacement? How good?
As previously mentioned, we'll be lucky to break .500.
It'll be one of the annoying private schools. The quarter by the computer says Elon.
Big Sky: Montanaand the sun rises again
CAA: Nova or W&M. Whoever wins their game. Probably W&M since they're due.
OVC: The same team that won it last year since they won it last year.
Southland: SELA. Why not? Montana needs a new foe.
Patriot: Colgate. It's their turn.
MEAC: South Carolina State. Maybe they won't come to Boone this year?
Big South: The Fighting Falwell's. Then they will get destroyed by a CAA team.
MVFC: The Wabbits
Great West: Cal Poly because no one else is any good.
SWAC: The bands are the real winners.
Ivy: Harvard because I got friends there.
Pioneer: The Torreros who will annoy us again.
SoCon: Elon because App St is garbage this year.

That's a pretty good record for Appalachian State.

Re: Very early conference and national title predictions
Yeah, we, App State, might not ever win another football game ever. And Barack Obama might be a conversative Republican in disguise. Good grief Charlie Brown.
I really love that year in and year out people put down Elon to win the SoCon. Do you guys that do that ever watch an Elon-vs-App State game? If they ever beat us it will be during a Category 5 hurricane off the coast with winds moving through, with the assist of a 9.0 earthquake. Why do you think that we complain year after year about their defensive players trying to injure our QB especially around the ankles? They have no other choice in their minds than to try something grade schoolish like that.

Re: Very early conference and national title predictions
It will be either SoCon (App State) or CAA (pick a team) winning the National Championship as they have for most of the last decade. Montana will lose in the semi-final or finals as they have for much of the last decade. Eastern Washington, Furman and SC State are my potential surprise teams.

Re: Very early conference and national title predictions
I miss the days when McNeese State and Youngstown State were always in the playoff hunt. NOT!
Don't miss Marshal or Georgia Southern either.
And hoping App. St. is completely finished there FCS terrorism?
Montana is the Best of the West, but there is no other program worthy on the left side of the continental map.
I would prognosticate that that UNI and So. Ill. may finally have a shot, but only if they can get past the CAA and Southern Conferences in the 2nd rounds, respectively????????????????
The 2010 National Championship will likely come out of the CAA again, and it seems to be William & Mary's turn, but its really anyone's guess at this point. [flash=]AND NEVER EVER COUNT OUT MIGHTY DELAWARE[/flash]

On December 12, 1775 the Continental Congress created a Battalion of minuteman from the three counties in Delaware. Kent county militia were fans and owners of Game Cocks; Fight'n Blue Hens as they were called. The Fight'n Blue Hens became known far and wide as the very best Fighting Game Cocks around. Thus, the Blue Hen was established.

We all know that this is EWU's year. The sooner you accept it, the sooner you can get on with your life.
