Stony Brook Sept 11th vs. Hofstra

Post by Redwyn »

Does anyone know if there are talks between SBU and any schools to fill that date? Was sorta hoping to get another CAA foe once the reorg was done, but would it be reasonable to expect an NEC team to fill that gap?

Just praying that we don't spot a D2

I saw that on the Big South composite schedules. I dont think it will be a CAA team but I really dont want a D2 either. Hopefully we can match up with a NEC team or maybe another Patriot team Fordham maybe ? Hopefully someone had an open date worst case another 4 game home season and only a ten game season -ugh!!!!

It won't be Fordham I don't think. I'm pretty sure they have the Columbia-Fordham game on 9/11 weekend every year now with the NYPD and NYFD attending.

I was actually surprised that we didn't get in on that weekend. Instead we're travelling to Stephen F. Austin in Texas.

Coach Ford has said though that we won't play SBU again until we have 63 rides. Lose-lose for us.

Liberty got screwed with only five home games?? We basically have five home games every year!!!
Since we always schedule one FCS game, it leaves us with only five home games.....

Welcome Tribe!

And yes.....getting screwed is a bit of an exageration.

Albany is lucky to get 4 home games a year since we go on the road for almost all of our OOC games. 5 home games is a plus. :thumb:

Good to have some more East Coasters around here. Especially when it comes to poll voting during the season.

Like the 'Griz?? I would love them to play our schedule every year. They commented about how they were not impressed with the teams in the W&M/Nova matchup........They would not fared well against our defense if we had been lucky enough to get by 'Nova------they also told us Weber would wax us-----again, it is called defense!!!!

The concept of Defense hasn't reached its way out to the Big Sky Conference yet...

All i know, i've already spoken with Vince Accardi the director of tickets and marketing about securing my season tix for this fall. Very welcoming group SBU, and it doesn't hurt that the AD Fiore is an HU alum and an all around good guy.

I saw UMass is scheduled, is that the second half of a home and home?

SBU is doing everything it can to be fan friendly and it seems to be working. UMass is I believe the 2nd half of a home and away and a nice piece of scheduling for a home game. The more I think about it maybe that open date can filled with a MEAC team or a PFL team. And yes that would be an ideal date for a SBU/Albany matchup. Maybe Wagner will drop their D2 ,D3 rivalries and treck out to Long Island. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Will be very, very interesting to see what type of attendance figures we put up now that we're the only D1 program on LI. Would not surprise me to see a sell out against U Mass, though we might suffer due to low recognition up here of most of the BigSo programs.

Welcome Seahawks!

Looking like a good migration of NEC fans. :thumb:

Hopefully that will continue so we can have a good NEC Pick'em over here this year.

Thanks Danefan. The demise of the other place took me by surprise. Hopefully all the other NEC guys will show up here by the fall.

It'd be a fantastic homecoming for our former star QB. How is TJ Moriarity doing?

 We gave up 23 points to the national champions. Not only that, our offense shit the bed in the 2nd half and put them out on the field the entire time and they still only gave up 14

And our home/away split last year was 6-5. Haters!
