I also don't know what UM was asking for money wise. All I know is that they wanted it in Montana or Denver/Laramie/Las Vegas
Well they have their plate pretty full and they don't want to leave the home for another OOC as that will take away a home game when we have to go to the UNI Dome. Going to the UNI Dome takes away the cupcake game that adds 1 million to the coffers for that game. They probably also get some pressure from the local businessmen that add to the kitty as well for playing that away game. I don't know the particulars of the situation though so I'm just speculating. You can take it as a slight if you want to but the fact of the matter is that they are not gonna go on the road very often unless the money is right. In that regard I guess they will be "fucking stubborn" about parting with the cash.

The App. State & McNeese games will VERY likely be a $50 ticket for the fans, the Homecoming game is also a $50 ticket as is the MSU game when we have them here. How many of those tickets in a given year do you think the AD is gonna be able to get through before an uprising and backlash from the fanbase. I would be happy to pay it but a lot of Griz fans may not be licking their chops for that game. I don't know for sure though.
I know UNI would probably raise the price for that game some. However, UNI fans are pathetic and they would bitch about the price hike. However, they will gladly pay the extra 10 dollars for the Iowa basketball game....because it is Iowa

You see what I mean then. The AD has to know who they can get away with that upcharge for and gamble with how often they can get away with it. They would have a sure bet scenario with fans like most of us on the board. That isn't the reality about much of the fanbases though.

I understand that. However, UNI is willing to forfeit a home game I don't see why UM or ASU would.

UNI would not be forfeiting the same amount of money on a home game as ASU and Montana would clenz. That is the point I've been working hard to make you understand. It is a money thing.

If UM doesn't sign the H&H with UNI then they have a team like Western State come in and it costs them 40,000. They charge an average of $38/seat and sell 25,880 for it. You see where this is going? The Athletic Dpt. has more than just the football program to think about so I think you can see the conundrum here. It's a bitch as a fan but you can't question the thinking behind it as a financial choice.

We'd love a home and home with Montana. Had a home and home with ASU in 2004-05. We played there (when we sucked) and lost but they "bought out" the return to San Marcos; which would have been the 2005 season. I would really have loved to have seen that as an early game that year!

Interesting we can't get these type games when we have the biggest athletic budget in the SLC! :x
