Davis can't finish a season at .500 where they are.Grizaholic17 wrote:When the Griz played them earlier, I remember talk about how Cal Poly and UC Davis both plan to move up.

Re: Cal Poly to the WAC?
Strange points?...as a Big West fan...I would hardly call Santa Barbara a dump?....What about it is dumpy? Cal Poly's field in terms of turf is one of the nicer in the state that I have seen; the stadium itself is pretty nice as well. Most of their facilities (baseball, softball, practice fields, gym, etc) are well recognized as being some of the better in California especially for the size of the programs. Not really trying to make an arguement but I was not "celebrating" the 22k stadium. I was simply noting that they were planning an expansion and that it could possibly be tied to a move to the WAC.SuperHornet wrote:Wasn't saying anything about Sac's facilities, which really are cr@ap. Most Big West fans consider Riverside to be a dump, along with Northridge and Santa Barbara. The last time I was at Cow Poly, their field wasn't much better than Northridge's, which sucked even before they gave up the ghost. Not the worst in Cali, mind you, but not the best, either. My point was that 22K is nothing to celebrate when a school like Liberty is going to 30K.BlackFalkin wrote:
Im not sure what you are talking about, Riverside is actually Ok... & Cal Poly's campus is TOP NOTCH. I dont think you know what you are talking about AT ALL. Sacramento State is a pretty bad looking campus in an even worse area. When we were in the hotel we couldnt sleep bc of idiots doing donuts in the parkinglot next door.

I'll bring it up again. SUU deserves to be in the Big Sky at least as much as Idaho State and Northern Colorado and perhaps Sacramento State.AZGrizFan wrote:OK. We'll never bring it up again.SuperHornet wrote:I wish we could stop this cr@p right now. SUU will NEVER be in the Sky.

I would think that Montana would be welcomed into the WAC before either UC Davis or Cal Poly. On the other hand, there is a movement to get the MWC to add Boise State--so that four teams can beat each other up and prevent any to bust the BCS (or so it seems). If the MWC adds Boise State, I could see the WAC looking to add a team or two from the FCS. The WAC adding Cal Poly and UC Davis would be a nightmare situation for SUU, unless SUU finally got into the Big Sky, which certainly doesn't have a 0 probability of happening.
BTW, SUU had a very impressive win over UC Davis today. If SUU beats South Dakota, SUU at least ties for the Great West championship.

Well I imagine you haven’t been on the campus at all in the past 5 years or so as a lot has changed. I started attending in the fall of 2002 and Sac State got a new president in 2003 who immediately set new goals for campus expansion and renovation. Here is a list of buildings that were completed since then:BlackFalkin wrote: Im not sure what you are talking about, Riverside is actually Ok... & Cal Poly's campus is TOP NOTCH. - A new dormitory that opened this fall
- A new 4 story building used for computer labs and class rooms.
- A new 2 story bookstore
- 2 new multiple story parking structures. (One really big one that is ridiculously large.)
- A new facility for athletics that provided locker rooms, offices for coaches, and classrooms.
- A new recreation and wellness center is scheduled to open in fall 2010.
- Various infrastructure upgrades to pipe networks and other vital utilities.
Right now they are trying to raise funds to construct an event center which would give the basketball teams a new and desperately needed arena. Also a new multiple story science building is currently scheduled to open in 2013. I don’t think they have broke ground on this yet.
As far as campus beauty is concerned I’d put Sac State up against any of the SoCal state school concrete jungles. The campus has lots of open green areas and lots of beautiful tall Redwoods. It’s definitely not the nicest place but a hell of a lot better than some of the campuses I have been on down here in SoCal. Also I wouldn’t say that the Sac State campus is in a bad area of town. It’s not in the greatest and nicest area, but it’s by far not located in a slum. The campus is hemmed in on the south by a state highway, on the west by railroad tracks, and on the east by the American River. The north side of the campus lies a well established upper class neighborhood.
As far as the guy doing donuts in the parking lot…that just shitty luck for you guys.
