Fordham played a tough game and certainly their QB Skelton was the best we've seen thus far (albeit our "thus far" is a short one). I am proud of my Monarchs for not quitting when the score was 25-7 and the rain was pouring down. We may not be experienced, but we don't give up. We actually had a lead at 29-28 before giving up the game winning TD.

We made a few bone headed plays, mostly costly penalties that experience would correct (being drawn offsides on a 4th and 1, late hits, etc.), but overall I am pleased with what the team has done this year. We are playing far beyond my expectations, and since our team is mostly freshman and red shirt freshmen, we can only look to better times ahead.

Comments like these are always nice to hear.

(the following is from our beat writer's blog)
Tom Masella, Fordham’s coach, went on an absolute rant in the interview hallway after the game. Here’s what he said:

“Let me tell you, ODU is going to be a (heckuva) football program. They’re recruiting well and are putting it together with young kids. Bobby’s a good coach and already has this team playing at a competitive level. You can win early with great skill players and he’s got them.

“Believe me, we had our hands full with them at the skill positions and they’re all freshmen.”

Just wanted to add that Edmon McClam is a beast. Tim Hauck of Montana owns the career mark of PATs blocked at 7, and McClam already has 5 in 5 games! Keep this up and he's not gonna shatter this record, he's gonna DESTROY it!

5 blocked extra points in 5 consecutive games is unreal. If we wanted of given up that last TD to Fordham, we win by 1 point thanks to a blocked extra point. Unbelievable.
