Riddell or Schutt?

This may have been discussed before where I haven't seen it, but I was wondering what style of helmet your team uses. It used to be the majority was the Riddell Revolutions, but I'm seeing a lot more of those new Schutts being used. Or mabey its a new style I don't know about from somewhere?

Albany uses a combination of both. Players get to choose.

Schutts are lighter and more protective (around the face and jaw).

I would have loved to have helmets like this when I played.

Really? I've always thought it was kinda a one or the other thing. I know at state it is, unless someone gets a bunch of concussions then they get that special anti concussion helmet w airbags, xm radio, and a cupholder in it. But usually I only see the one style when I watch I think . Ill hafta watch closer I guess.

It all depends on the supply contract the school has with the distributor. Lately I think the two companies have been competiting so much that a lot of school shave been able to score cheap deals on both so they have both.

Same thing happened with my brother's high school team. He was able to get 10 or so helmets from Schutt for free as a "test" run as he has always only had Riddell helmets in the past.
