TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Sept. 20) -
FAMU's All-America return specialist Leroy Vann will be featured in the College Football section of this week's Sports Illustrated. He made the ESPN SportsCenter Top 10 plays for the second week in a row. ESPN Analyst Scott Van... Pelt declared Vann his favorite of all college football players. Vann was also featured as a topic on ESPN's "Around the Horn."
Vann, who leads the nation in punt returns, averaging 27.9 yards per runback with four touchdowns in the last two games, has set a new FAMU career record for TD punt returns with seven (7), which ties the NCAA career record.
His four punt returns thus far in 2009, have tied the school's single-season mark set by Howard Huckaby in 1988, and the mercurial Tampa native is 115 yards shy of tying the single season school punt return yards mark of 478, set by Huckaby in 1988.
