good call to put some D-II in early to get some W's
The goal was to build confidence each week for the brand new team, and for the opponent to get progressively better each week. Here is our remaining schedule:

That is a good first season schedule. Per your assertion that it was designed to get more difficult as the season goes forward, I would agree that VMI is the best team on there.

The real tests begin as the DII part of our schedule is over. Saturday (9/19) will be our first FCS game, and it is a road game at that. It will be played under completely different conditions as the first two games; on natural turf, day game under the Florida sun, and in a stadium that is less than impressive.

It will be interesting to see how the guys, who are used to partial, friendly crowds of nearly 20K, react to being "the enemy." As with every game in this start-up year, I'm more interested in performance than score. Winning by huge margins is nice, but I want to see how the guys react to adversity, because down the short road we are going to be playing some FCS heavy weights in and out of conference.

Jacksonville just got smoked (27-0) by Samford and gave up 24 points to an NAIA school Webber International in week one. You guys shouldn't get blown out by any means and could quite possibly take them. Good luck. :thumb:
