But, the PL has apparently found some loop hole in Title IX which doesn't require them (or hasn't been enforced against them) to count their aid for football in their Title IX calculations. Thus, my understanding is that most of the PL schools do not counter their football aid with female aid. Fordham does and that was why it was so easy for them to convert to scholarships from grants-in-aid.
That appears to be correct based on recent reports. It could also be an elaborate ploy by PL presidents to argue againt scholarships

Good point. I never though about it that way.
Blame it on Title IX.
When it comes to making excuses about lack of athletic funding anything is possible with the PL
Jacksonville is actively working to raise money for a real football stadium. The recent economic slump has not helped, but sometime in the next few years I think you will see a real football stadium at JU. Many PFL schools have great facilities. Dayton has indoor practice space, a dedicated grass practice field, fantastic weight rooms, meeting rooms, etc. Our "stadium" is owned by the Dayton Public Schools, but the taxpayers of Ohio recently paid to renovate the whole place, including new field turf. We can seat 11,000 fans. If you really want to see a cool stadium, visit Drake. A football movie could be filmed there. USD is also extremely nice. Davidson is small, but nice. Morehead State is nice, (and has the Phil Sims weight lifting shed, I mean building).
I agree that accounting in the PFL is difficult to understand. At Dayton, for example, it is reported that 90% or so of the students receive some form of financial aid. It seems reasonable that the students that happen to play football would be about the same.... The last best guess I came up with seemed to indicate an athletic scholarship equivalent of maybe 25 to 35 athletic scholarships....
Still, as has been mentioned, this model works for the schools of the PFL. Travel is cheap compared to 126 athletic scholarships....
"As schools looked at either dropping down from full-scholarship to save their programs or add football to a Division I program, the non-scholarship model made sense, and we were the only ones who offered it," Viverito said.
She said she has received a "number of phone calls" from schools across the country who are in various exploration stages of adding football or moving to non-scholarship, and envisions a day when the PFL can expand and have divisional play to help cut down travel costs.

I think any team that is perpetually bad who doesn't have a sugardaddy or a strong following. E.g. Georgetown, Illinois St., St. Francis, Savannah St., maybe Southeast Missouri State?

I don't see Illinois State being in that same category - you maybe thinking of Indiana State?

That's what I was thinking...the Redbirds have not fallen to that level yet I wouldn't think. Indiana State, Idaho State. and maybe Montana State.
I dont understand how JU is able to compete in the ncaa DIVISION 1 with no stadium? How IN THE F**K IS THAT ALLOWED? But Eastern get penalized for minor infractions. give me a break.

Yeah, sorry - my brain was thinking about the Trees, but my fingers were typing something different.

What does the stadium have to do with academic infractions of EWU? They were academic infractions right?
Sorry BF, no matter how much people want to argue it, FCS football is COST CONTAINMENT football. Its NOT FBS football for one reason only - because the budgets are less. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, there is a huge gap between FCS schools' financial committment to football. That gap is allowed by, and actually perpetuated by the NCAA. JU is playing within the rules.
