I haven't seen anything to disprove it other than the Western teams are better than the Eastern teams. Your judgement is skewed because there a no great teams in the east.

Only 1 eastern team made the final 8 and thats because they played another eastern team to get there. The UAC is better than any east coast conference. The Ivys will be the class of the East in the coming years.

To play devil's advocate: Murray gets blown out by everyone now, Georgia Southern & Texas State moved up more than a decade ago (and it took TX State more than a decade to not totally suck at that level), and Missouri State & Texas State were never FCS powers.
