After suffering a compound fracture of his leg last season, URI running back Joe Casey was working on coming back for his senior season...
Apparently that has come to an end after he dislocated his ankle and has undergone season ending surgery...
The red-shirt senior, who needs only 475 yards to break the school’s career rushing record of 3,389 set by Pat Abbruzzi from 1951 to 1954, dislocated his right ankle toward the end of the Rams’ first preseason scrimmage Aug. 15. He had surgery at South County Hospital that night and was discharged on Tuesday.

Only 475 yards from besting a 55 year old school record, man that sucks.

I believe they did that with Jason White of Oklahoma a few years back.

He'll likely get a 6th year. Albany has two starters who were granted 6th years in the offseason.
