Some good analysis here re the dark side of this crazy choice. There are a TON of rumors going around out here, too, that Tomsula was a big figure in the unhealthy command climate that ultimately led Harbaugh to take his ball and go home.

Given his facial expressions during games (utter confusion), this is probably the right move, but it's still dissatisfying as it will make the Whiners look like the Raiders (too many moves in quick succession keeping the team mired in mediocrity).

Oddly enough, the Raiders look to stand pat this year at 8-8; the last time they achieved 8-8, it wasn't good enough to save first-year HC Hue Jackson or anyone on his staff despite the fact that 8-8 is the best record (by a LONG shot) posted by Oakland since Chucky took them to the Super Bowl. Stupid McKenzie trying to throw his weight around....
