Will Harrington Reach 2000 Rushing Yards? At 1805 now.

Ok it was in another losing effort but last night Kade Harrington rushed for 243 yards at 10.1 yards per carry including TD runs of 65 and 50 yards against a Central Arkansas defense that was giving up an average of less than 100 yards per game. The previous TEAM rushing yardage high against Central Arkansas was 164. That total was reached by both Samford and Oklahoma State.

Harrington is now at 1358 yards at 194 yards per game . If he maintains at least his per game average he'd be at 2134 yards at the end. Lamar's remaining opponents are Houston Baptist, Nicholls State, Incarnate Word, and McNeese State.

BTW he's not the rushing yards leader. Fordham's Chase Edmonds is at 1393 yards. But he's played one more game so averages a little less at 174 per game. If he keeps HIS average he'd be at 1915. His remaining opponents are Colgate, Bucknell, and Georgetown. So he's got a shot at 2000 as well but I think Harrington's shot is a little better.

I voted "no" just because getting 2000 is awfully tough for a college football player who may not be in the post season. Lamar could be there if they win out because they'd be 7-4 with wins over Sam Houston State and McNeese State. But for sure they're barely clinging to hope at this point.
