Fresh off beating Montana, Liberty goes for another power conference scalp, traveling to the backwoods of Carbondale for a meeting with the 0-2 Salukis.
SIU lost to Indiana by 1, and SEMO by 3
Can the Big South win another against the MVFC?

Vegas is not a believer in us. No surprise there. I consider this a dangerous game for us.

That's an interesting matchup. Should've been in the game of the week poll. Southern Illinois is 0-2 but that's very deceptive. They should've beaten Indiana and they lost to Southeast Missouri State by only three points after committing 7 turnovers to Southeastern Missouri State's 0. They can move the football. They outgained Indiana 659 to 595 then outgained Southeast Missouri State 469 to 385.
That hints at what their problem is. They had 2 turnovers to Indiana's 0 in the first game so for the season they've got a -9 net in the takeaway/giveaway stat in only two games.
But if they happen not the turn the ball over in any game it could be "watch out." This is, I think, a huge challenge for LIberty.
As an aside I am wondering if any other I-AA/FCS program has ever put up as many as 659 yards of offense against a program now in the Big 5 conferences. No way to know if it's happened without more effort than I want to expend but wouldn't be surprised if it hasn't. That's a lot of yardage.

Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?
