LEHIGH SMASHES PENN, 35-4

Post by ngineer »

Saturday afternoon in a packed Grace Hall, Lehigh took 9 of 10 bouts from Penn to hand the Quakers one of their worst losses to Lehigh in 20 years. HIghlights were Freshman Cagnina at 133 beating #5 Peterkin and #11 Kennedy at 197 beating #4 Burak, with a beautiful lateral drop takedown. EIWA tournament opens March 5 at Bucknell, so we're peaking at the right time.

Oh, yeah! You? This will be my seventh straight 'nationals'. Having them in Philly will have a huge Lehigh contingent. In fact, Lehigh can't find enough tickets for its fans based upon the allocations. I am also surprised that Penn and/or Drexel aren't the 'hosts or co-hosts' ,but that Rider College, an hour away in Trenton, NJ, got the 'host' designation. Not sure how that came about. I can't believe the Rider "out bid" the well-healed Quakers.
