Question for Z and Tman
Question for Z and Tman
How the fuck are you guys getting anything done right now with all the Healthcare Reform town meetings you guys are ambushing?
"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

one of these right wing assclowns tried to start a riot at an event in Missouri... ended up getting hurt in the fracas... now is trying to raise funds to pay his medical bills... he's one of the 47 million uninsured...

You just can't find a better example of supreme stupidity than that story, so typical of all this tea bagging movement, fueled by dumbasses that don't have any sense at all. Just like our foodstamp rednecks around these parts, sponging off of social programs, flying the rebel battle flag, and voting Republican.TwinTownBisonFan wrote:http://www.kansascity.com/news/politics ... 73035.html

Pretty lame bait...D1B wrote:How the fuck are you guys getting anything done right now with all the Healthcare Reform town meetings you guys are ambushing?
Unlike the Move-On/World Can't Wait/Code Pink/Media Matters/OSI/DU/Pew/Heinz/MSM/Enviro-whacko/DNC-paid Tire Slashing professional operatives who have disrupted any form of intellectual public debate within the political arena for the past 18 years, the alleged "operatives" that I repeatedly hear being accused of "disrupting" or "attacking" Dumbydonks Reps during summer break townhalls are generally employed within the healthcare industry: Not lobbyists or professional activists.
Since when has it become ethically incorrect for a constituent employed within an industry to publicly express their opinion regarding legislation which will severely impact their career or job security, or worse, develop government-as-business-competitor thus removing the ability of the private sector business to fiscally survive?
Sorry D...you're a fool for swallowing the MSM spin on this debate.
I've tried to keep an open mind and listen to all sides of this debate, as we do need to do something to make healthcare affordable and available to every person, but when I hear the lefties fall back on their "normal" behavior of attacking and attempting to silence critics, I become extremely skeptical of the soundness of their proposals.
I have not attended any townhalls...mostly because the only Dem rep in our area, Doris Matsui, aka "The Coward", hasn't held any townhall meetings in 4 years, and won't during this recess. One of her campaign opponents did and received this response...
http://hoguenews.com/?p=2945I called Doris Matsui’s office to find out when she would be speaking to the district on Health Care, Cap and Trade or Cash for Clunkers. Her staff said she would not be holding any meetings. When I asked why, I was told she would not be holding any meetings. When I said that the people of the 5th District deserve to know what the Congresswoman’s reasons for supporting these bills, the staff person declined to answer. So her staff takes all the bullets while Matsui runs and hides.
I guess the most significant healthcare reform proposal in our country's history is not worthy of debating in an open forum...
...why should the Dems? The Obama/Pelosi/Reid juggernaut has attacked our constitution and business structures with the zeal of bullies who will never be held to account.

People now go to the emergency room LONG before it's "life threatening". There's also urgent care facilities, and health-care clinics in Walgreens, CVS Pharm's, etc. My wife took my sick daughter to Walgreens in-store clinic, the bill was $39. There are LOTS of options for people who don't have "coverage". And I'd bet a dollar to a donut that my premiums ain't seen NOTHIN' when compared to what they'll be under some genius mid-level bureaucrat's plan.TwinTownBisonFan wrote:yeah... the emergency room: serving the health care needs of people too poor to afford to get something treated before it becomes life-threatening... enjoy subsidizing it with your higher premiums...AZGrizFan wrote:

FFS, Z, you can't go to a Walgreens to get cancer treatment or emergency heart surgery. Re: Question for Z and Tman
On my parents plan? I'm married motherfucker. I don't get shit from them by way of insurance or anything of that sort. I'm on my own at 21 bitch. Health insurance, dental insurance (doesn't come standard with our plan), car insurance, car licensing, renters insurance, life insurance, etc...Grizalltheway wrote:Shup it, clenz. I'm on Blue Cross Blue Shield, which I do get through UNI, however it is barely subsidized compared to what it would be for me to go straight trough BCBS. Dirt cheap is hardly the amount we pay every month...compared to some yes it is cheap, however for a 21 and 23 year old couple that just got married and are still in school...cheap isn't the word.
Eat shit mother fucker, I'm a big boy now.
Oh, and for what it's worth, my parents gave me more money as a wedding gift than they have as any kind of aid in my first three years of college...a whole $1200. Yep, the only thing they paid for when I wasn't married was gas for the trip back to CF from George, IA, then maybe 20 bucks to fill up in CF again (it takes about 3/4 of a tank, depending on speed and wind).
Mommy and daddy haven't done shit for me, and it has made me a better person for it, and I don't hate them for not doing it. They don't have the money to help me, I get it. I grew up poor, I'll live poor and in student loan debt trying to make a better life for my children, but I don't need the government to do shit for me that I am capable of doing. At one point I had 5 jobs at once to pay for my shit. If I can get 5 fucking jobs others can at least get one job.

Can't do that in England or Canada either. Their waits for that kind of shit are long enough for most to die before they get their treatments.Grizalltheway wrote:FFS, Z, you can't go to a Walgreens to get cancer treatment or emergency heart surgery. Stop oversimplifying shit.AZGrizFan wrote:

Re: Question for Z and Tman
Actually option C is not a big deal for you guys. You are broke ass college students. If you got something bad like a broken leg or cancer you'll be fine. You get everything for free and declare bankrupcy. I mean you don't really have anything of value. You own some furniture, a stereo, and a car. You really don''t have anything to lose. It is a few years after college that option C gets scary.Grizalltheway wrote:Shup it, clenz. You're either:clenz wrote:

Right, except declaring bankruptcy doesn't get rid of student loans. They can't be touched by bankruptcy claims. They are paid no matter what you file forbobbythekidd wrote:Actually option C is not a big deal for you guys. You are broke ass college students. Oh, and come through my house and tell me there is nothing of value here. Nope I don't own the house, which take a big chunk away I get, but everything inside the house and garage has been paid for and is in my name or Sara's name

popular misconception (you CAN get emergency heart surgery at a Walgreens, in a van out back... wait... was that... well, shit...)clenz wrote:Can't do that in England or Canada either. the wait times in canada are largely overstate. there are waits for surgeries, but not for emergency surgeries, it's really not that much longer than in the US.
I correspond with a group of guys i met in Vegas on a regular basis who work for the Torries in Ottawa and they say a lot of that is overblown by opponents... keep in mind these guys are conks in canada...

If Conks were trying to push something through that meant a longer wait, even if it was just a little one, Donks would be screaming just as hard as the Conks on now.
Fucking double standard
