Difference between 2016 and 2020 wrt to this issue is that there have been violence against Trump supporters, and plenty of people don't seem to have an issue with this escalation. So yeah, I'd be inclined to think your typical non-vocal Trump supporters (the silent majority if you will) wouldn't be in a hurry to tell a pollster who they are voting for.Ibanez wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 11:31 amYou think? I think there might still be a lot of potential Trump voters who aren't being honest with pollsters so I have no idea what will happen. Could be close or it could be a landslide for Biden.
I do think that a landslide for Biden would be much more of a rebuke for Trump than a mandate for Biden and progressive policies.

Re: 2020 General Election
At this point I would be very optimistic about getting rid of Trump if we were in normal circumstances such as those that prevailed during every Presidential election of my lifetime through 2012. But there are a few things that really concern me:
1) People who are going to vote for Biden are more likely to be rational about the COVID-19 thing and attempt to vote by mail or by drop box. There is risk that a given person who votes by mail will make a mistake so that their vote is not counted.
2) Republicans are working very hard to suppress voting in areas where high percentages are likely to vote Democrat. So far they are having limited success but there are certain court decisions that are tenuous.
3) The Russians do want Trump to win and they have been doing things. I do not think I can rule out stuff like having people in heavily Democrat districts showing up and finding out there is no record of their being registered to vote, more "October Surprise" misinformation, etc. The Russians are in this and they really want Trump to win because Trump being President hurts the United States and helps them. That worries me.

Re: 2020 General Election
I think the idea that Trump supporters are afraid to say they are Trump supporters was way overplayed in 2016 and if it's a factor at all i poling now I don't think it is much. From what I can tell Trump supporters generally do not hide the fact that they are Trump supporters.SDHornet wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 12:49 pmDifference between 2016 and 2020 wrt to this issue is that there have been violence against Trump supporters, and plenty of people don't seem to have an issue with this escalation. Didn't we just catch Iran sending emails to registered Democrats in Florida telling them to vote for Trump?

As has been reported many times, Russia is a much bigger problem in this area than China or Iran are. All I'm talking about here is what worries me. And I do not think China and Iran are anywhere near as involved in trying to influence this election as Russia is. I also think the FBI would agree with me.UNI88 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 2:39 pmThe Russians might favor Trump but China and Iran favor Biden. So they're less biased and more reputable than the NY Post.
Who fills that role for the Democrats? We need a Kennedy Project.

The Lincoln Project is a bunch of grifters that are are doing a great job of milking gullible Dems for money that they pay to consulting firms they own to make ads against Trump.
