He’s a doofus. Still...would vote for him today over Bush. BTW, GWB was on Kimmel last week. It’s really hard not to like that guy.

Of course some would look fondly back on the Cheney presidency and still vote for him again I suppose.

As bad as W was, nothing Kerry did then or afterwards would make me want to switch my vote. I at least get the feeling that W, looking back now, would do things differently. Kerry, on the other hand is still convinced now of his unquestionable judgement. I tend not to be endeared to hubris.

Kerry epitomizes arrogance, privilege and entitlement.

For a second there I thought we might be talking about the Bush administration as well.

I voted for Dubya in 2000 because I fell for his compassionate conservatism pitch. In hindsight, I should have voted Libertarian. But given a choice between the two of Dubya/Gore and Dubya/Kerry, I would vote for Dubya.
Both Gore and Kerry are/were too filled with hubris, arrogance, privilege and entitlement for me.
I would also vote for Trump over Hillary in 2016 if I was given a do-over and was forced to vote for one o the two. I was pleasantly surprised that 2016-2020 didn't go worse than it actually did under Trump which tells you something about my expectations for what would have happened under Hillary.

Most people in power are. It’s just funny that “hubris” is used in comparing others to the Bush administration...different kinds of hubris I guess...

I voted Nader is 2000 and can’t remember if it was Nader again or Kerry in 2004. The Iraq War was reason enough. The financial crisis was icing.UNI88 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 26, 2021 4:13 pmI voted for Dubya in 2000 because I fell for his compassionate conservatism pitch. In hindsight, I should have voted Libertarian. Looking back, I want to say I would vote for Hillary instead of Johnson 2016. Then again Trump fully exposed the underlying stupidity and self-centeredness. It was way more prevalent than I thought. Probably good in the long run it was brought to the forefront as quickly as it was.

Nah, Obama may certainly be arrogant, but it's not the same kind of entitled arrogance that you had from the Gore's and Kerry's of the world. Maybe it was just because of his background and upbringing, but when you couple that privilege with arrogance it just comes across as even worse. Obama's just a far better politician that patricians like Gore and Kerry ever were/are.
