Given that the child was forcibly removed from birth mother by CPS in 2010, I fail to see where the Sailor has committed a "crime" worthy of arrest. The only "justification" is her specious "contempt of court" claim. That's patent BS....

Intimately, only once. The CA model (FCS) family court services is notorious for "splitting the sheets". Party can show up with a needle hanging out their arm, and court gives joint custody. Some counties have a rep for awarding custody to the poorest parent, then targeting the "breadwinner" with county administered support.

As a business owner, I once had an employee that a county ORDERED the garnished support be paid to them, then they took a fee and passed the rest to the mother. I began deducting the amount and mailing it directly to the mother, then received a contempt citation from that county. Wound up going to court...the attorneys whispered, and the charges were dismissed (I advised my attorney if they prosecuted, I would go public about how the county was taking money otherwise intended for the children).

This judge Noe needs a heart to heart from the Court Administrator.

...New Republic reported DOD attorneys representing the sailor submitted papers late Friday which should quash the order to appear on Monday...unconfirmed.

Shhh! The quality of our judiciary today is deplorable. Many, many state court judges, at least at the trial level and lower court levels, are total dolts. They lobby politicians for appointments (or run for election), seeking these positions, because the rather paltry pay (in comparison to successful private practice lawyers) is still significantly more than an idiot lawyer can make in private practice. Many successful attorneys won't even consider the bench because of the disparity in earnings between a successful lawyer and a judge, so the bench has become a haven for lawyers failing in private practice.

And when I first started practicing, you had to be a star to get appointed to the federal bench. Not so any more. The quality of the federal bench is still significantly higher than the state court bench, but there are many more unqualified federal court judges today than 25 years ago.
