Thousands of Californians are discovering what Obamacare will cost them — and many don't like what they see.
These middle-class consumers are staring at hefty increases on their insurance bills as the overhaul remakes the healthcare market. Their rates are rising in large part to help offset the higher costs of covering sicker, poorer people who have been shut out of the system for years.
Pam Kehaly, president of Anthem Blue Cross in California, said she received a recent letter from a young woman complaining about a 50% rate hike related to the healthcare law.
"She said, 'I was all for Obamacare until I found out I was paying for it,'" Kehaly said.
I think every 'merican deserves the quality of health care we provide for Congress, Col. Clink.

You and your fucked up corrupt church should be 100% behind this initiative, as christ would have. Instead you would rather insurance companies and hospitals maintain their right to rip everyone off. Well, we just got the word from BC/BS that our policy will no longer be offered because it doesn't meet ACA guidelines. I had a very high deductible catastrophic plan that didn't cover well visits, etc. I didn't need that because I can afford to pay out of pocket for that sort of thing and professional coutesy took care of most medical needs that didn't involve hospitalization. But now I have to buy a policy that covers things that I usually don't even have to pay to have done. I realize that I'm the exception to the rule, but why would they force me to purchase coverage that I so obviously don't need? According to the rate charts, I'm gonna end up paying at least twice what I was paying. Kinda sux.

Tough shit. I'm gonna be unemployed (by choice, just taking a break) in a couple months and I need all kinds of health insurance and ACA will provide it, waaaaaaay cheaper than COBRA and PHI.
