Unemployed to be put to work in NJ for Sandy cleanup

Post by CAA Flagship »

This will be interesting to see what happens.

JERSEY CITY — New Jersey plans to hire the unemployed to help repair damage to state parks caused by Superstorm Sandy.

Labor Commissioner Hal Wirths will announce details of the program during a news conference at Liberty State Park in Jersey City Monday.

Officials plan to use a federal grant to hire those out of work. They’ll be assigned to clean up and restore Liberty State Park and other parks throughout the state.

How many will "refuse" to work for pay?
Will the unions protest?

Will the Unions protest? Was Sarah Palin a sexist hypocrite during CPAC? This is a handout but it's better than general welfare. These people will get paid to work and it will provide some temporary relief for them. :twocents:

Spoiler: show
Yes, the answer to both of those questions is yes. :coffee:
