The Truth About Guns

Post by SuperHornet »

And I'm not even a gun fan, per se....

Before you whine about numbers out of thin air, note that the sources are the FBI and the Cato Institute.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Gun conks suffer from hero syndrome and paranoia:
The hero syndrome is a phenomenon affecting people who seek heroism or recognition, usually by creating a desperate situation which they can resolve. This can include unlawful acts, such as arson. The phenomenon has been noted to affect civil servants, such as firefighters, nurses, police officers, and security guards.[1] Acts linked with the hero syndrome should not be confused with acts of malicious intent, such as revenge on the part of a suspended firefighter or an insatiable level of excitement, as was found in a federal study of more than 75 firefighter arsonists. However, acts of the hero syndrome have been linked to previously failed heroism. The hero syndrome may also be a more general yearning for self-worth.

Makes sense; cops and firefighters and marines are forever going on about what heroes they are.

Nobody ever explained to them about acting like you've been there before. :ohno:

Cops and Firefighters are douchebags like that but its just a broadly stroke brush D1B is painting with and it doesnt hit anywhere close to the truth.

It would be easier to put the sun OUT......than stop human nature.

People also need to realize that 30 people at a time in a country of 309 million isnt even a depress your brake momentarily moment. It is beyond insignificant, I put more credence into what the Westboro baptist church thinks than a one every few years shooting resulting in 15-30 people.

The left doesnt care about being legal, they dont care about "education" they care about their agenda and they will do anything necessary to achieve it. This includes what they are doing now, killing children in schools with "assault rifles", lying in the media, misinformation and creating a panic with the media. They are going after ammo with the EPA, they are driving up prices and creating a huge black market.

Its the only thing they have done to stimulate the economy in 60 years.

It's really interesting to see all my friends post updates on Facebook about gun control. Nearly all my hometown friends in Northern VA are lauding the measure Obama is about to take and pretty much all my friends from Norfolk are berating it. I haven't posted a status update in years, but I kinda want to ask, "What do you think about Obama's new measure?" just to see the two worlds collide purely for entertainment.

Much ado about nothing.

Obama has pretty much admitted that he cannot make real (read: effective) changes without Congress, which is ironic coming from a guy who bombed the hell out of another country without Congressional approval.

The same guy who authorizes drone strikes in countries we have not declared war on which have resulted in far more deaths of innocent children than school shootings during his tenure.
