...who is going to be held culpable for the fiscal cliff if America heads back into a recession. Both sides are unwilling to compromise for their own political sake. Sad. I will be glad when the baby boomers are 6 feet below the ground.

Some bull**it, nonproductrive compromise will probably come out of it.
Let the fall off the 'cliff' happen. Across the board cuts.

In general I agree but "we" own a share of the blame. "We" reelect a large share of the Congress with every opportunity and "we" reelected both 43 and 44.Ibanez wrote:POTUS 43 and POTUS 44

I agree with Ibanez on this one. Both sides will claim a political victory but I think the Republicans will come out a little worse for the ware.

Re: In all seriousness, at the end of the day,...
The 1 major area where Obama has disappointed me is military spending. This is a man who CRUCIFIED the previous administration as it related to military spending, yet he has reneged on Gitmo. and Afghanistan is a lost cause. Uh, hasn't Karzai been in power since about 2005? Why are we still there? My God, take what our nation has WASTED since 2001 on military action and think "what if" every penny of that could've been used for domestic issues. War is an albatross and if sandrag nations want to kill each other, we should have no say so at all.
9/11 should have been a wake up to OUR foreign policies, not a green light to go police the rest of the world and sacrifice our men and women. Obama has lied to us regarding military spending. It's time to end war by setting an example to the rest of the rationally thinking world and bring our troops home FOREVER!

I think the majority of the public will blame the Republicans.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth

I think it goes back a lot farther than that. More like to 1933 or around then. That, to me, is when the foundation for the structural problems that led to the current situation was laid.Ibanez wrote:POTUS 43 and POTUS 44

Every last non-economy-understanding Donk should be to blame. But the American people are too wrapped up in personal agendas to know what is the greater good.
Screw it. Let's go off the cliff. Can't wait to see the bread lines.

A bread line would be the best thing to ever happen to D1B..........the money save on his long term health care could buy a small Indonesian country food for a month. Very true. However, none of you have the balls to vote out incumbents. None of you have the balls to vote for real change or at least a third party.TheDancinMonarch wrote:In general I agree but "we" own a share of the blame. Enough with the third party talk. There is no way a third party works when you have a minority Donk with long coattails running for President. I understand why many of you liked Gary Johnson, or some other independent. But under these circumstances, it came down to a yes or no vote for Obama. A vote for an independent was a vote for Obama. Not voting was a vote for Obama too. Don't feed me that crap about setting things up for a third party in the future. This is not new. And things haven't changed.Ibanez wrote:Very true. If you want to put blame where it belongs, it is in fact the teabaggers of 2010. Even their fellow Republicans hate 'em.

Both major parties are only interested in short term political victories. The fact that the country swirls faster and faster down the drain is apparently of no concern to either of them just as long as they get their Pyrrhic victories. So let's continue to reward them for their efforts.CAA Flagship wrote:Enough with the third party talk. The last two elections were not the times to birth a third party. The financial crisis that we continue to face needs to be the number one priority and lead by the party that can be the most responsible for making good financial decisions. Anyone who thinks the Donks are better than the Conks regarding fiscal responsibility is outright lying....................................... or ignorant.TheDancinMonarch wrote:Both major parties are only interested in short term political victories. The last two elections were PERFECT time to launch a third party but I almost think it need a strong national candidate to rally behind. The two parties responsible for the financial crisis have too tight of a grip though.CAA Flagship wrote:The last two elections were not the times to birth a third party. In the 21st century, when exactly have the Republicans demonstrated any fiscal responsibility? We know the Democrats haven't, but when have the Republicans?CAA Flagship wrote:The last two elections were not the times to birth a third party.
