Firefighters gunned down after responding to House Fire

Post by dbackjon »

Very tragic - Christmas Eve, volunteer firemen.

Two dead, two critically wounded.

What the hell is wrong with people???

Two firefighters were shot and killed and two others injured while responding to an early morning fire in Webster, N.Y.

Webster Police Chief Gerald Pickering said shots were fired at West Webster firefighters when they arrived to battle the blaze along Lake Road in Webster, which is about 10 miles west of Rochester.

According to the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle, there are no active shooters at the scene and firefighters have resumed battling the blazes, according to Sheriff Patrick O’Flynn.

The two injured firefighters are in guarded condition at Strong Memorial Hospital with gunshot wounds, a hospital spokeswoman told the Democrat & Chronicle. The newspaper reported firefighters made their way across a bridge to get to safety.

Appalling crime.

Who had a vendetta against members of the fire department?

Who had a financial interest in seeing the buildings be burned beyond repiar?

Cue alphadouche blaming the firefighters for not carrying assault weapons with them while trying to save lives.

The suspected gunman, the late William Spengler age 62, was a convicted murderer who served 17 yrs after killing his grandmother with a hammer.
Being a convicted felon, Mr. Spengler was in possession of the firearms...

...illegally.

Sadly, we all know if there had been stiffer gun laws on the books, this incident wouldn't have happened as the stiffer laws would have deterred Mr. Spengler.

:coffee:

Oh, and one more thing...

...when ARMED police (the good guys) showed up and returned fire, Mr. Spengler ended the siege by committing suicide.

See how that works?

;)

If its the type of person who I think it would be...then they would have access to guns regardless of any law to the contrary.

Why did the liberals let him out of jail in the first place? :suspicious:

A person who beats his grandmother to death with a hammer is really just a gentle soul who deserves a second chance, right? :dunce:

But Libs will now go tell everyone that stiffer gun laws would have prevented this tragedy.

And we need a hammer ban ban hammer here before things really get out of control.

This man would have never turned to a life of crime if we had just made hammers illegal, or at the vary least instituted background checks and kept scary claw hammers out of the hands of civilians. Civilians should only be allowed to own ball-peens, and nothing too big. Maybe limit them to 12 oz ball-peens. And the ball-peens shouldn't be black. Black is fucking scary.

Defensive, much?

Where did he get the guns? Gun show? Took/borrowed from an irresponsible gun owner? Just shows one of the problems we have is the over abundance of guns in this country.

So, you are saying it is ok the volunteer firemen died, because in the end, the good guys won?

I see you are ASSuming much there - he is in a conservative area, so...

And he never should have gotten out, at best released to a mental institution, but hey, Reagan closed all of them.

The obvious answer is to pass a law banning all fires.

I also find it funny that GATW is the one that brought up guns to poison this thread as well.

If the firefighter had been armed this would never have happened or at the very least one of them would still be alive.

I blame the person that called the fire in...............we need to ban phones and fire as covered in the other thread.
