First:
Seattle City Attorney Pete Holmes said today that "Drug policy scholars have already noted that the Constitution does not allow the federal government either to order state governments to create any particular criminal law or to require state and local police to enforce federal criminal laws and we plan on moving forward under than premise" Balsy - I like it
The state Run Stores:
***Registered growers will be state licensed and regulated to meet a growers standard
Just like if you wanted to process and sell food products in stores
***Each small container of retail product will be packed to a standard (as yet not determined) and serial numbered and inventoried as though it were a prescription drug
***The State of Washington will be imposing a 25% tax rate on the product three times
***when the grower sells it to the processor 25% transaction fee
***when the processor sells it to the retailer 25% transaction fee
***when the retailer sells it to the customer 25% transaction fee
"Washington's local government and it's citizens have a great relationship with our police officers and the city voted ten years ago for Initiative 75, making marijuana the lowest enforcement priority for the Seattle Police Department and they have honored that agreement. Today it just got lower."
