Romney another Mondale or Dukakis?

Post by bluehenbillk »

Obama's 1st term has done little for me, but I sense a rout in November unless Obama just screws something up between now & then. The GOP doesn't seem to have ANY enthusiasm for Romney and even with the possibility of Christie as a running mate, without the ticket turned upside down I just sense a scenario where Romney gets blasted

Nah. BDK has a poll from mid-January that says Romney will win in November. :coffee:

At least Romney will have the sense not to ride around in a tank. And there's a lot of time between now and November. :coffee:

Dukakis had the Prezzy wrapped up until he was "Roved" with the Willie Horton thing, something GHWB said later he regretted.

More like another John Kerry.

I think this election will be close like Bush-Kerry, unless Romney pulls a McCain and picks somebody like Palin for VP.

 Wrapped up, my eye! You're probably too young to remember Dukakis's miserable debate performances, like the one where he refused to consider the death penalty for someone who might rape and murder his wife. Fact is that the "Massachusetts Miracle" was a mirage, as the GOP proved, and Dukakis couldn't get out of his own way. Next. :coffee:

You're prediction of an Obama route is ludicrous.
-Reagan and Bush's daddy had much higher approval ratings at this point than Obama does now.
-" Unless Obama screws something up between now and then." Well considering he has been doing that with regularity...
-After seeing the donk success with their drawn out primary in '08 the Republicans intentionally set it up so it would be impossible to have the nomination wrapped up early as is often the case. They moved many of the big states till later and changed many states from winner take all to proportional. Also a # of the early states like FL and MO had 1/2 their delegates stripped.

Romney IS kind of a wet towel.

That being said, if that issue affects him in the election, it will prove that Democrats aren't the only people who choose style over substance when it comes to choosing Presidents.
