Film Recommendation

Post by bluehenbillk »

Don't know if this has been discussed here before but if you haven't seen the movie "Inside Job" you need to.

It won an Academy Award and explains the financial crisis of 2007 to present. Goes into details on companies like Lehman Bros, AIG, Goldman Sachs, Bear Stearns, etc..

It will open your eyes, and piss you off.

I got a recommendation to watch that from a former colleague now-retired a few weeks ago. He said he had to stop it from time to time and calm down because it was making him so mad. I think one has to be careful, though, when watching any movie like that. Very easy for the movie makers to distort.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

If only 25% of what they said was true, which I have no reason to believe it would even be that low, it'd get you burning mad. :tothehand:

The filmaker started the film as a way to bash Bush and the Republicans. Turns out, after reality hit, he had to edit some of the film in order to put things into proper perspective.

Obama wasn't the savior the filmaker believed in.

All in all, a decent film...if you get past the obvious initial bias.

If you liked the movie, Inside Job, then read, Liar's Poker. You'll get even more upset...if that is possible...while you laugh and cry at the same time.
