Michael Avenatti denied rumors that he had been tricked by 4Chan users into representing a fictional woman with allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Avenatti locked his Twitter account earlier on Tuesday, making it impossible to retweet any of his tweets.

Avenatti, who is considering a presidential bid in 2020, has said in recent days that he is representing a woman with credible claims of sexual assault against Kavanaugh, who faces allegations of sexual misconduct from two other women, both of which he has vehemently denied.

A 4Chan user posted on Tuesday that his girlfriend had called Avenatti on a burner phone and claimed to be a woman who had been assaulted by Kavanaugh in high school. He claimed that he and his girlfriend also pretended to be another person who could confirm the fictional woman's story. 4Chan is an internet message board which has been linked to the alt-right.

Avenatti told CBS News' Nancy Cordes on Tuesday that the post was false.

Quite the gamble by the dems, as this gang-rape allegation really drowns out Ford and Ramirez's allegations. They're betting that Kavanaugh and/Trump are shamed (LOL) into withdrawing or at least delaying the nomination, without actually having to present any proof (because none exists, or else it'd be out there already). Failing that, can they shame 2 of Collins, Murkowski, Flake, or Corker into voting no? If McConnell whips the caucus and has the votes, then he tells the dems to go F themselves and holds the vote ASAP to put an end to what will surely be a never ending steam of meritless allegations.

He had the perfect scam going - adolescent girls away from parental supervision thrust into an unknown and really scary situation, and who better to be the friendly person to lean on then the doctor who is simply performing "routine" exams that are "normal" for the women they are becoming.

I have a hard time believing that a college aged adult woman, who graduated 3 years ahead of Kavanaugh, didn't only not report, but was actually still going to high school parties...plural, more than just one where girls were continually drugged and gang raped by several high school boys on several occasions.
