Super delegates are bullshit. You have the will of the people voting and then you allow special Democrats/Republicans (Congress, Governors, Mayors, etc...) an EXTRA vote because...why not? I know it's about 15% of the total delegate count but it's bull ****.

Here's a brief history:
In 1968, after the riots at the Democratic national convention in Chicago, party leaders knew they needed to change the nomination process to give ordinary people more of a say in how the potential president was chosen. Thus, the state-by-state primary/caucus system was born. By the 1980s, the party elites felt left out of the process, bereft of all influence, and they thought their absence had hurt the party when weaker candidates like George McGovern and Jimmy Carter were nominated. Jim Hunt, Governor of North Carolina, was commissioned to fix the alleged problem, and by 1984 the Superdelegate system was implemented. Democrats thought that by giving more power to party leaders, it would prevent “unelectable” candidates, beloved by the populace, from costing them the general election.

Total. And. Complete. Bullshit. :twocents:
It is total BS. What these idiots don't realize if they actually overturned who a majority of their base had voted for they would be costing themselves the general election...guaranteed..

I will thoroughly enjoy the butt hurt from the Bernie supporters about how rigged the system is…then I’ll thoroughly enjoy the Bernie supporters spin as they convince themselves voting for Hillary will be better than voting for a conk. This election cycle is awesome entertainment.
How many times in history have the super delegates not gone with the primary winner?
The correct question is: when have they had to?

This whole super delegate thing was invented to the powers that be ensure one of their own make it to the general election. Now they have an outsider on their hands and are shitting themselves.

Oh, and here is an old Bernie website article trying to spin the super-d’s as no big deal, but then there is this:
In some presidential elections, superdelegates can play a major role in determining the Democratic nominee, especially in a close race. Unlike delegates though, superdelegates are not bound to represent the popular vote of a region at the Democratic National Convention; they are free to support any candidate for the nomination.

You would think only conks would come up with such a rigged system seeing as they are the overbearing controlling types (at least according to the msn). Guess not. Bye bye Bernie, it’s been fun.

Funny that it's the Democrat party that thinks they need party elites to extra say in the nomination process. Kinda not what you'd expect from the party of the common man, right?

So let me get this straight. The lobbyists and PAC's spend millions supporting a candidate and bending their will, but aren't satisfied with only that level of power so they vie for additional votes that can supersede the will of the populace and potentially move the election?

I mean, why even bother voting as an American Dem if that's the case. Sounds like the superdelegates have it handled, I'm certain in our best interests.

And the best part of Sanders vs. Trump is that the DNC and the RNC lose their entree to the White House....maybe a desk next to the janitors closet..

Not even close. She was imitating a dog.

I'm not sure what Dean was imitating. I've never seen an animal that says, "YAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!!" I mean, his whole stability and judgement came into question right there. It looked out of touch and slightly insane.

The GOP's problem is that folks like Cruz and Rubio aren't electable nationwide.
Both of those are electable nationwide with Clinton or Sanders as the opposition. Rubio more so than Cruz. Rubio was hurt some in that regard by that dick head Christie who pointlessly took him down in that debate. But I think he still would be favored to beat either Clinton or Sanders head to head.

Trump has no shot. He is not at all a viable general election candidate. He is royally fucking things up. Or I guess I should say that the idiots who are supporting him during the Republican primaries are fucking things up.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
