Yes. I'm not saying more states won't make it legal or that it can't work. My position is somewhat fluid and I'm the only one here asking the tough questions.

But, Hen, recall that we've been asking and answering those "tough" questions for years here. As with the ACA, we gotta wait and see what happens.

It wasn't a joke. I don't recall you, DB, Kalm, Chizz ever saying anything other than it is inevitable, good, easy, etc...

No way, Hen. If so, you weren't paying attention. I remember epic arguments over legalization and related from as far back as AGS.

It's already happened here and it's really no big deal. The state will iron out the retail, manufacturing, and wholesale end of the equation. Some will purchase it through those channels, some will grow their own, some will share their homegrown with friends, less and less will acquire it illegally.

It will no longer be a point of emphasis for cops, and we'll spend less time as a state prosecuting non-violent drug "crimes".

Um...
This statement ^ has already been responded to but let me (pile on) add a few notes in reply

Firstly
Quite a bit of the process has been common sense / now were this the Federal Gov't - no doubt - common sense would be far and away the least used tool in the process
But it's being handled LOCALLY

by people who are listening to BOTH SIDES
Not just POT Farmers - but - the regional LCB and the Police Departments as well as Marijuana activists groups and the Medical community (all have a say in the process)

The deeply desired chaos and Panic
mostly wished upon us by the East Coast States simply put: Hasn't happened

It's been about as calm and cool and reasonable as could be imagined
Both Colorado and Washington have been working closely together
Both states have flown in experienced European Police and Drug Enforcement Officers
as well as Farming Regulators and Food and Drug experts

the process has been quite easy
for lack of a better word - easy - is an appropriate word

 Relax, take a deep breath - exhale - and say: Everything is going to be okay
Q: Name something that offends Republicans?
A: The actual teachings of Jesus

I guess it is very different out there. Not much common sense on the state or county level around here.

SEATTLE -- State agencies charged with making recommendations about the future of medical marijuana in Washington want to drastically cut how much pot patients are allowed to have, restrict what they can have it for, and make them obtain the weed at stores that are licensed under the state’s recreational marijuana law.

Representatives from the Liquor Control Board, Department of Revenue and Department of Health released their draft recommendations on Monday. An advocate for medical marijuana patients called the suggestions “ugly” and said they’d burden truly sick people who depend on pot.

Washington voters last year approved the recreational use of marijuana, as well as its sale to adults over 21 at state-licensed stores. Officials have been concerned that Washington’s unregulated medical marijuana market could undercut the sale of fully taxed pot and invite a crackdown from federal prosecutors, who have called the state’s medical marijuana system untenable.
