Oh gee. Inflation is down from 2 months ago. I couldn't find something for the past two months. But I did find this from 2 months ago:

U.S. workers' paychecks are worth less than they were a year ago, the Labor Department reported Friday, as modest wage gains have not kept pace with inflation.
Do you have some update you can link to show us that things have changed significantly since August? If so, fine. I Googled "Wage growth outpaces inflation" and all I got was articles on how inflation has outpaced wage growth.

The point is that inflation hasn't decreased under Trump and there has been no trend towards inflation adjusted wages increasing under Trump.

The link you provided goes back to October 2017 so all you're looking at is what happened under Trump. Here is a page that shows month to month change in inflation adjusted wages provided by the Bureau of Labor Statistics:

https://data.bls.gov/timeseries/CES0500 ... w=net_1mth

It covers January 2008 through September 2018. It shows variation up and down. It does not at all suggest a positive trend such that wages adjusted for inflation have gotten better under Trump. In fact, the highest month to month increase during the last year of Obama, a 0.04 increase in July 2016, hasn't been equaled under Trump yet. So far the highest month to month increase under Trump has been 0.03.

But the main thing is to look at the graph. Nobody would just look at that graph without knowing anything about who was in power when and say it looks like something big happened to change things in late 2016 or early 2017.

As far as inflation goes, see https://www.minneapolisfed.org/communit ... rates-1913.

There is no way anybody can look at that and think inflation is lower under Trump. It looks pretty much in line with what's been happening over the past decade.

I am not trying the cherry pick or anything. It's just what the numbers say. And that's the thing with this whole Trump economy thing. The data just don't support the idea that the economy was doing badly then Trump took over and now they are great.

If somebody just looked at US historical economic data without knowing anything about who was in power when they would say that there was a big downturn around 2008/2009 then things started getting better. They would not say "Oh LOOK, something big happened around 2016/2017 to make things better."

Indeed it does and when you look at longer time periods you do not see any indication of a trend towards increasing wages under Trump.

In any case I think the Bureau of Labor Statistics page that shows inflation adjusted increases and decreases is a better indicator for what we are talking about. And that definitely shows that there hasn't been any trend towards an increase in inflation adjusted wages under Trump.

I don't know why you keep doing this. The data simply do not support your point of view.

John, you REALLY need to get treatment for that horrific case of TDS you’ve got. I’ve never, not ONCE attributed this to Trump. I’m simply trying to get rid of the fake news that somehow wages haven’t outpaced inflation in recent years. THey have. They are. This isn’t “because of Trump”, unless you subscribe to the theory that a dearth of employable people and record #’s of job openings leads to wage inflation, then maybe it is attributable to Trump’s economy.

Either way, wage growth is almost 5%, while inflation is just above 2%. For the past several years.

Why even post stuff by the Daily Wire citing Breitbart as a source? Seriously man. It's like saying Rush Limbaugh said something only worse.

Don't get me wrong. I can tell from the one credible news source that is cited in the article that some people were indeed charged with doing the deed. But it breaks down with respect to the thing about prosecutors alleging wrongdoing on the part of a "Texas Democratic Party Leader."

Team Brown could sink the Blue Wave hopes...

Latinos are waking up to the duplicity of the Democrats
With a little more than a week left until the midterm elections, Democrats appear to be snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. The matchups were theirs to lose, and they seem poised to underperform in a bunch of them.

A reader recently asked me: “I don’t understand why Latinos are not motivated to vote against a bigoted POTUS and willing enablers.”

I can help with that. The answer has to do with how Latinos feel about Donald Trump, and how they feel about Democrats as an alternative

Rut Rho. First Team Black and now Team Brown? Whatever will the Donks do???

I just laugh at JSO and his "demographics" argument. These people aren't robots, for Christs' sake. They're waking up to the bullshit that's been spewed by the left for 50 years...it's happening, whether people like JSO want to admit it or not. And here's a newsflash for you, JSO: It doesn't take much of a swing...not even remotely close to a majority...of EITHER minority and donks are fucked. For the next several elections. Fucked.

We'll see. I predict that when you see the exit polling after this election it will say that Blacks, Latinos, and other non Whites voted by overwhelming majorities for Democrats.

The latest probability sampling poll I see at the RCP site for the generic Congressional ballot is the NPR/Marist poll covering 10/21 - 23. It's got Blacks saying they'll vote Democrat by 84% to 8% and Latinos saying they'll vote Democrat by 66% to 24%.

The handwriting is on the wall for Republicans. And OBTW college educated Whites said that they'd vote for Democrats by 50% to 41%. That group has historically voted Republican.

I will show you how stupid that article is just by referring to this statement:
In 2016, an astounding 29 percent of Latinos voted for Trump.
That's not astounding at all. Romney got 27%. McCain got 31%. G.W. Bush got 44%. Trump's performance among Latino's was not remarkable at all.

If you think Trump made significant progress among non Whites in getting elected or has made significant progress among non Whites now you are kidding yourself.

I don't know why people find it necessary to lie to themselves. Ok. Trump won. Great. But why the need to kid yourself into thinking Latinos are suddenly changing the way in which the overwhelming majority of them vote? They're not.

Note:

The exit polling from the 2016 House elections had 67% of latinos voting for Democrats and 32% voting for Republicans. The latest probability poll I can see on the House election (NPR/Marist) has 66% of latinos saying they would vote for Democrats and 24% saying they'll vote Republican. The YouGov internet poll has 55% of Latinos saying they'll vote Democrat and 24% saying they'll vote Republican.

I will admit that I'm amazed that Hispanics/Latinos are not even MORE anti Republican than they are given what a dick head Trump is. But there is absolutely NO suggestion that Republicans have made progress with respect to Hispanic/Latino voters. There was no suggestion of that in the exit polling for the 2016 election and there is no suggestion of that n the generic House vote polling now.

I've spent the last few weeks trying to get new voters in VA's 10th district (Comstock vs. Wexton) and then canvassing for Wexton, but I'm done now with my volunteer shifts.

I'll tell you this though; I've never in my life seen this many women fired up. :twocents:

Doesn't look like they're fired up enough to win the Senate. They should have the House wrapped up though. Typical mid-term for a first-term President.

Should give the Democrats just enough rope to hang themselves for the 2020 Presidential race. All they'll do is disrupt and delay for two years and throw their fits. They can't seem to put together a cohesive message to move the country forward other than, "Trump is a big meanie!"

That's my old district. Did you watch the debate between them? Wexton is way out of her league. Unfortunately for the 10th she'll probably win, as Comstock's been very good at limiting the damage the Freedom Caucus has done to the House Republicans.

I'm in the 11th district, which is a non-factor as it's heavily blue.
