my purpose is to find my purpose and have as much fun as I can, while prolonging what little time on this earth I have.

In other words, You've been given a week from your job for vacation. Does the fact that it will in fact end and you have to go back to your boring desk job stop you from going on vacation? I say nay. I say, we'd all try to have as much fun as we can in that week and do what it takes to make the experience as enjoyable and long as possible

YT, couldn't agree more. I would add that illegal drugs greatly enhance ones time on earth, especially LSD, Coke, Weed, Hashish, Shrooms, Trans Fat, and Absinthe. Especially LSD.

I hate to rain on your parade young in' but you are indeed ahead of the curve, so if that remains your attitude be prepared to get skewered later in life. Enjoy the thought while it lasts though. :thumb:

Life is sunshine and rainbows when you're tripping on acid, like I did for 15 years in the 80's and 90's. Saw god 7 times.

Wrong.

It still happens even today. There are still idiots out there arguing that intellegent design should be taught along side evolution. Not because intellegent design is good science, but because evolution challenges their religious views.
WAHH HOOO! 12 pages in and I finally found my segue!

Actually, you are thinking of Creationists. Intelligent Design is:

The theory of intelligent design holds that certain features of the universe and of living things are best explained by an intelligent cause, not an undirected process such as natural selection.

Darwinian Evolution believes that only natural selection and random mutations created everything we have today, starting from a puddle of water.

ID is just a fancy term for the same thing Creationists believe. That way they can try and get it passed as something else and into schools.

I have said it before. I don't doubt that some are using ID as a backdoor to get God introduced, but to say ID = Creationism is not correct. While not everyone on this list is a proponent of ID, they are critical of Darwinian Evolution.

My point is that ID does have the PhD's who question Evolution and Creationism is the interpretation that the Bible is how everything unfolded. ID does not say Evolution didn't happen, they just don't believe it is as complete as it needs to be and that what is lacking must be due to an intelligent force.

The trouble is in the wording of what they signed. "Skeptical" can mean something very different to a scientist. Note that they didn't ask an opinion on whether evolution by natural selection was unlikely, impossible or implausible. They didn't ask whether they believed Creationism or Intelligent Design to be valid scientific theories. Why didn't they ask those questions... and see how many people agree? It seems there's no such thing as straightforward honesty when doing God's Work.

Because they were simply asking if a person felt that only natural selection and random mutations (Darwinian Evolution) was enough to cause all diversity. This guy, who is an evolutionist, writes why he signed the document. He can probably best answer why a scientist would sign the document.

His response is very enlightening. In essence, he agrees we don't have all the answers and encourages further research. Something I have tried to say the Evolution and Global Warming crowds refuse to admit.

It is not an article. It is a listing of scientists who agree that Darwinian Evolution is not complete enough and needs more review.

Yeah, nevermind the over 600 scientists that have signed the document. Something tells me you don't have the brain power, and neither do I, to match wits with 95% of those listed in regards to Darwinian Evolution. This isn't the HuffPo you know!
