While I understand the end product is much different, I think the methodology is similar.Ibanez wrote:Frogmore is like a traffic stop. But yeah, it's a fail. Like Dungeness crabs.kalm wrote:

For whatever reason my Google search yielded different results than yours. That picture is just the first one I saw that depicted what I wanted to present. I actually looked a little more through the results to see if I could find a better one and didn't see one.∞∞∞ wrote:Not to be "that guy," but is that honestly the only picture of Lynch you could find? Just seemed kinda odd that's the image you posted, and a seemingly obscure one at that...JohnStOnge wrote:

What? Now you're going to rag me because I'm modest and don't give a shit about having a fancy house?Nice **** house and landscaping too.
Too racist to hire minorities to give it some curb appeal.
BTW you can't see what my wife has done with landscaping planting trees and making a flower bed on the front and side and such. Believe me when I tell you that if it were up to me "landscaping" would mean making it so that there is as little work as possible and all that crap wouldn't be a factor.

Can you save me some time and give me a link me to a description of what they did for their study? I'm not having an easy time finding it and when I Google about BMI plus waist circumference I'm not seeing any kind of "combined" index. I'm seeing BMI as one measure and waist circumference as another with each having certain advantages and disadvantages.Chizzang wrote:John... the study is based on the CDC's BMI + Waist Circum
Which means Lynch is well within the standards and NOT obese
Read the CDC obesity report its NOT just BMI

To me to really get to the issue they'd have to do something like this:
http://www-rohan.sdsu.edu/~ens304l/uww.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
To me CDC shouldn't even be reporting on "obesity" unless it's doing something like that. If it's not doing that I do not consider the estimates of proportions overweight and obsese to be anything close to accurate. It shouldn't be doing reports declaring certain percentages as "overweight" or "obese" on the basis of things like looking at height vs. weight and waist circumference.

I found the paper. From the methods section…JohnStOnge wrote:

There is nothing there or anywhere else in the methods section about waist circumference. Not sure where Chizz got that from, but as I already said the CDC's definition of obesity is still based on magic integers of ratio of mass to square of height.Weight and height were measured during the physical examination using standard procedures. Patients’ BMIs (calculated as weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared) were classified according to the following categories: underweight (<18.5), normal weight (18.5-24.9), overweight (25.0-29.9), obesity class 1 (30.0-34.9), obesity class 2 (35.0-39.9), and obesity class 3 (≥40).2
