There is war on. Obama's cronies at CNN are reporting that Russia is, illegally according to Obama, supplying the Ukrainian rebels with arms and intelligence. Duh. And what are we doing in a host of other countries? The exact same thing.

Heck, we kill children and civilians all the time, and prop up governments that make people disappear while oppressing women (oh my...and don't forget the gays, Jon) in many countries, all in the name of national interest.

You can say we don't mean to do bad things, but that is entirely untrue. We just hire whack jobs to do really bad things for us so that we don't have blood directly on our hands.

So why are we shocked when other countries/groups of fighters decide to kill and terrorize people? The ultimate goal is to win. Sometimes their objectives or methods are different (200-300 people killed in a plane crash versus thousands killed by bombing the "grid," but the end goal is always power.

With all of the shoulder fired missiles we set free in Libya, it is only a matter of time that someone knocks down a commercial airplane full of Americans.

Finally somebody leaves emotion out of it and hits a walk off homer.

WHY would you continue to route planes over a war zone where the combatants have SAMs and have already shot down other planes recently?

If you are Russia, and you are providing these freedom fighters with weapons that they may not know how to use, you are going to provide instruction and probably a few people to stick around.
