Only problem - Christian Theocrats are already, and have in many instances, put the Old Testament version of Sharia law into effect.

If not, then I would be able to get married in any state.

The issue is that they are excluding all other religions. They are only allowing Christians to lead the prayers. This happens in many, many towns across the country. The ignorant masses, both in the country and on the Supreme Court are for freedom of religion, as long as it is their version of Christianity.
When are you going to call out the chosen one in the White House. His administration supported the town in the case. :coffee:

Bush's judicial appointees tend to be originalists, why by definition means they are not activist. However, many of Obama's judicial appointees openly talk about using the bench to make policy, Sotomayor among them. That does make them activist.

Eh. Conservatives just call it "judicial activism" when they disagree with it.

How was overturning established law and court precedent through EXTREMELY broad interpretations with decisions like Citizens United... not judicial activism?

Simple. The law was unconstitutional and precedent does not supercede original intent.

One of the main reasons we've sent our kids to Catholic schools since Kindergarten. They can say the pledge of allegience, pray, do moment of silence, national anthem, God Bless America, do nothing.... and not have to worry about somebody getting pissed off. :thumb:

Fuck off? I don't see why the government should approve my heterosexual marriage. It's none of their business. Unless you forgot, i'm for gay marriage. If we need a law, how about two people 18 and over and can marry. Under 18, obtain parental consent. Done.

I was talking more of straight and homosexual. Incest shouldn't be allowed. I'm sure there's a cut off of when it's not incest, 2nd cousins? I don't know.

So, still open to stipulations. Not as cut and dry as one would like.

I'v ehad that feeling lately. No matter how open-minded, tolerant, compassionate, etc.. you are people just don't care. They ignore it and pigeon hole you. Gay Marriage should be legal, but the rabid hatred of anyone Republican that has a moral objection is not helping the gay community win support.

Why only two people? Seriously.

And if a sister and brother want to marry, then why not? The only stipulation might be that a child MIGHT be born with certain disabilities, but if you go down that route, then people who have certain genetic disorders shouldn't get married.

What is your specific problem with incest or multiple partners? :suspicious:
