I can't stop repeating that line in my head

We were bored so we decided to go kill somebody

That's going to stay with me for a while
It had that affect on me too.
Me too. Like when those boys in Texas dragged that man behind their car until he died.

John continually associates nihilistic concepts as well as existential notions with Atheism
Atheism / Nihilism / Existentialism / These three things are different / and not necessarily related

However I do see how those concepts would confuse a Fundamentalist Christian (Like Johnny)

The boredom angle to this is definitely messed up.

But I've seen some pretty fvcked up stuff over my 17 years as a cop, and this kind of random violence happens a lot; only it is usually black on black.

If not for the Trayvon case, I wonder if this would have gotten the coverage it is getting?

Also- I noticed that one if the hometown articles on this focuses as much on the angst of the suspects' parents as it does the friends and family of the victim.

Well when you have the former prime minister of Australia, one of our closest allies, telling his countrymen not to travel to the US then yes it's going to be covered by pretty much every network....

I think the one that looks kind of White is a "half&half." I say that because I saw a report where they had the mother of one of the accused make a Statement and she was White. I suspect that's her kid. We'll see.

And yes I know it's probably not "half and half." The Black man she got knocked up by probably had White blood in him and she may have had Black blood in her somewhere. What I'm saying is that the kid is a product of a woman classified as "White" having sex with a man classified as "Black."

Obama already covered it

Was it the Trayvon could have been his son speech?
White House: Obama Doesn’t Need To Make Any Remarks On Chris Lane Killing Because His Comments On Trayvon Martin Apply To Lane’s Death…

Via Washington Examiner:

President Obama’s spokesman described the murder of Australian baseball player Christopher Lane in Oklahoma as a “pretty tragic case,” saying that Obama’s comments after the Trayvon Martin case apply to Lane.

“This sounds like a pretty tragic case,” White House Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest replied when told about the murder of Christopher Lane. Earnest said that he hadn’t heard about the murder previously. Police say that the three teenagers who allegedly shot Lane in the back while he was jogging said they did so out of boredom. [...]

Earnest said that Obama’s comments after the Trayvon Martin case apply here. “[T]he president I think himself has spoken pretty eloquently about violence,” Earnest said when asked why Obama commented on the killing of Martin but not of Lane. “He expressed his concern about the impact of violence in communities across the country,” he added, referring to Obama’s comments after the Martin case..

Yes. In JJ's world, young black men shooting a young white man in the back randomly while he is jogging is "frowned upon".

I'm sure he simply "frowned upon" his friend MLK Jr. getting gunned down in similar fashion in Memphis.

Right?

ou seem really really confused about Atheism...
No, I know what Atheism is. And I know Atheists attempt to make arguments for intrinsic morality and intrinsic worth given the premise of their world view. But the arguments fail.

It's one of the most fascinating things about many Atheists. They embrace a certain premise but are unwilling to accept the obvious realities associated with it.

If their view of reality is correct, there is no intrinsic morality and there is no intrinsic worth. It is what it is.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

Again, you're confused ^ That's some kind of Nihilist existentialism

Example:
Say you've got a person that doesn't think there's enough evidence to support the biblical notion of GOD
(That by definition is an Atheist)

and in the meantime they live in the real world / In other words they are not clinically insane

So add to it: They are Atheist and simultaneously aware of Heidegger's work on Phenomenology...
Thus: They see the "value" of something is in its "being" / not what it is but rather "that it is"
(Pardon the worlds shortest definition of Heidegger's work)

By understanding Existentialism & Nihilism one might drift over to Phenomenology
and all the while they can still be Atheist and still be Human

 Things can still "matter" even if you're an Atheist
Quantifying that "value" is a whole other conversation (A long one)
But suffice to observe that what is here matters
because it changes everything around it... for it exists: Being is it's value

Note:
Why most Atheist are opposed to WAR
and yet most Fundamentalists are very PRO-WAR

Explain that
Odd isn't it..
Q: Name something that offends Republicans?

Imagine if Zimmerman had tweeted something like this a couple weeks before he shot Trayvon.

He'd have been charged with a hate crime without a doubt. And he would have been easily convicted. Hell the FBI dug and dug and dug and dug and all they found was a non-racist Obama voter. No red meat there at all.

Heidegger was a boozy beggar who could drink you under the table. Immanuel Kant was a real piss ant who was very rarely stable. David Hume could out consume Schopenhauer and Hagel.
