I was responding to what 89 said about losing an arm. I didn't think heroin use would cause it to happen.Skjellyfetti wrote:Heroin doesn't cause arms to fall off.Vidav wrote:Discolored teeth is worse than losing an arm?
Reusing needles cause infection and then arms start to fall off.
If you inject coffee with infected needles. Your arm will fall off as well.
Ten years after decriminalizing ALL drugs in Portugal..

Help me understand "syringe laws". How do we make needles easier to acquire? And who pays for this? Because if I have to pay for drug users to not lose their arms, then I will say BS. Then drug users should pay for new grips on my golf clubs.Skjellyfetti wrote: Heroin doesn't cause arms to fall off.

Syringe laws would hopefully be part of decriminalization of drugs..... making clean needles easier to acquire. The "heroin makes your arm fall off" argument is a red crap.

I don't recall tobacco smoking in the Bible but yet it's legal today. Same with caffeine. I've said this before, the only reason weed and other drugs aren't legal is because they are not in the Bible like wine and liquor. Same thing with masturbation - some ******* 3000 years ago thought it was icky, it got into the Bible and now there's a stigma around a perfectly healthy, normal activity.
And I'm on the record, I'm perfectly fine with legalizing the small stuff like pot. I'm not a fan of legalizing the heavy stuff, but if people want to smoke pot, let em.

i don't think legalization of any drugs will happen until field testing is refined for drivers that are "under the influence". Whatever group, or groups, that were instrumental in lowering the legal limit of blood-alcohol content, as well as raising the legal age to 21, are waiting to pounce when the discussion becomes real. Without the ability for law enforcement to determine the level of impairment accurately, I just don't see legalization happening. Although I heard recently that they are getting closer.

Are you referring to "getting small"? You don't think that if pot were legal, it would be grown and modified to be stronger and stronger?GannonFan wrote:the small stuff like pot

The reason they're in their living rooms now is that it's illegal.
Au contraire, Chicken l'orange! One has uncanny ability to pull oneself together when under the influence of pot. Ask anyone who's been pulled over and got out of it very easily. Now, just don't smoke in the car (the smell is what gets these people arrested) and don't mix smoking with alcohol.

For you potheads.......is eating it the same as smoking it? I want to bake some brownies, and was wondering if I'll get the same high (?). I would think that eating it is much better for you than smoking it......no?

Recent studies have shown that even regular pot smoking has no real negative effects on long capacity or function.mainejeff wrote:For you potheads.......is eating it the same as smoking it? According to those inside the medical industry, inhaling vapors is the preferred method to smoking.mainejeff wrote:For you potheads.......is eating it the same as smoking it? The idea is the vaporizer only heats the substance sufficiently to release the active medication but not to ignite the plant matter, thereby eliminating the smoke byproducts and toxins.
Google "Alice B Toklas" for the real dope on brownie making.

Yeah, none of that stuff can be good for wind, period. I spent 17 years as a firefighter, during a period where we transitioned our frame of mind from "eat that smoke" pussy! To "get a damn SCBA on or get the hell out of here." Firefighters at the time had an expected life reduction of about 12 years from that of a normal person.
I would bet general air quality has an effect on lung function as well, maybe more than say being a cigar puffer. Our air is among the cleanest in the US, and when I go to Denver, I can feel the effect of that place right away.

It's not about the government providing syringes for free. There are charities that do that and they could continue to do it (and have an easier time with it).CAA Flagship wrote: Help me understand "syringe laws". How do we make needles easier to acquire? It's about making it easier and legal to buy syringes. Not all junkies would use clean syringes but making it legal would increase the accessibility for clean syringes and decrease (but, not eliminate) infection.
