Her sending out Podesta was like Gen. Cornwallis sending out Gen. O'hara to deliver his sword. Weak & Cowardly.
Indeed. She had a real chance to leave the public stage with a memorable and worthwhile gesture. Instead, I felt bad for all her supporters who agonized in that room for 7 hours as the results came in, realizing their candidate, who they clearly loved and adored, was going to lose in the most epic upset in American political history, and then to be told by John "Crap, did I say that in my e-mails" Podesta that maybe they should all just leave because they didn't want to pay for another hour to keep the Javitz open and that Hillary didn't give a damn about them and wasn't going to come and thank them.

Maybe she can do something with her concession speech today, but I think she really blew it last night by turning her back on her most ardent supporters.

And I say that as a guy who is genuinely sad for women in America today who were truly jubilant over the idea of the first woman President. I really hope they don't need to wait too long for that day, and I hope when it happens it's someone truly worthy of that honor. Hillary was far from deserving of that place in history.

Well said. I'm certainly not against a woman or a minority president, but jeez you don't have to jump the first one that shows up. :ohno:

Excellent post.

Especially about Hillary leaving her supporters out to dry. That move surprised no one who saw Hillary as she really is.

Well said. I think it's wonderful that a woman was able to compete. But she was the wrong person. She blew it last night by, again, not showing her humanity. You don't staff that out.

Trump proved that you don't need to spend billions. He paid, roughly $5 a vote. He spent ~$270M vs Clintons ~$530. Clinton spent almost $270M on staff and media alone.

Does that include dark money/PAC's?

Trump also received 100's of millions in free publicity. His wealth helped with that.

Job 1 was to block Hillary. Mission Accomplished.

Unfortunately, it took Trump to do it.

Ray of hope? Since the second debate, Trump listened to his advisors. He stuck to their talking points. And he showed that he could be "normal". Now the hope is that he will be able to surround himself with good people that will convince him to make the best decisions going forward.

Free publicity is...Free. :suspicious: SO it wouldn't go into how much his campaign spent.
