We are not worried about nukes in Venezuela. This isn't Cuba all over again. And nuclear missiles in Venezuela are not any more threatening than nuclear missiles in submarines sitting not too far off the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. This isn't the movie "War Games", and if it were the only way to win would be not to play.
If you’re a son gets assigned to a nuclear submarine, he will be able to give you some perspective on that comment. You’re not taking into account the human and logistical impacts of keeping a submarine underway into eternity.
These sailors assigned to submarines have families and bills to pay too. Daddy being away from home for six months can be very difficult on a young wife with two kids. I’m very thankful I made my three 6 month deployments to Antarctica when I was a single guy. Trust me on this
So by having weaponry staged in Venezuela is more strategically convenient to the host Nation than operating a fleet of ships and submarines parked over the oceans of the world.
That’s why Venezuela is significant because they are close
As I have already covered long before Klams Twitter heroes caught on, what’s going on in the Caribbean is much more than the war on drugs. Genius of Trump to sell it that way though, because he is definitely making an impact on the drug war like a side hustle![]()
We’re sending a message to the Chinese and the Russians and Hamas, who are inside of our hemisphere, to get the fuck out, so you could make comparisons to the Bay of Pigs except this time, we’re doing it the right way.
Imagine the tremendous pressure on the drug thug Maduro… he knows something’s coming….
The last time I checked, we are not operating inside of Hong Kong on an equivalent scale like China and Russia are operating inside of Venezuela so maybe you would like to rework that point as well
After Venezuela is over, Columbia on deck. We need adversaries and friends of the United States of America as the leaders of these countries, not leftist nut jobs and evil drug lords
Trump is changing the entire world with America’s best interest in mind and it is so refreshing!!!

Imagine if we at least caught just one of these boats and proved they were carrying illegal drugs and showed who these people were. That would be a nice change of pace to just blowing things up from a distance and posting videos of it.

Nobody should think that Drug Cartels are operating out in the Pacific because of what Trump’s doing in the Caribbean. They’ve been operating out in the Pacific for 25 years or so.
It’s their next move that is gonna be interesting because a lot of bad people in Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico that are up to no good will be running low on cash soon enough

Re: Venezuelan War
Well, the Coast Guard has caught lot of them over the past 40 years both in the Caribbean and in the Eastern Pacific. They are the lowest pawns in the drug trafficking organization and a part of me does feel bad for them, despite the majority of them being cutthroat unscrupulous dirtbags. They are mostly getting pressured by the real bad guys up the chain to continue going out there on these boats and they’re in a situation where they probably can’t say no … being told if you don’t go out and take that risk we’re gonna kill you anyway so you might as well take the risk and get paid for it.
Most of the drugs going out of Colombia and Venezuela up to primarily the Dominican Republic are operated by Venezuelan, Colombians and Dominicans… not surprising
Every now and again you’ll get a Jamaican or somebody from one of the Leeward Islands like St. Vincent, Dominica or take your pick
And of course, our agencies like the DEA know who these people are on a lot of these runs anyway, so once the departure is confirmed, they know who is on board and who they work for and they know what their cargo is
Bottom line with all of this drug enforcement activity is somebody is not getting paid and we know how that goes

Should be real simple to take a boat and show us. With the firepower we have in the area now catching a boat intact would seem to be pretty easy. They would say just because you show us this boat doesn’t show us who got blown up, Klam would agree with me on this
There are decades upon decades of press releases about the interdiction of these boats, what they look like and who’s driving them through. They illustrate a pretty good historical profile.

MIAMI (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard seized more than 75,000 pounds (34,000 kilograms) of illegal drugs this summer from boats far out to sea in the Pacific and Caribbean, which the service called its largest-ever haul worth nearly half a billion dollars.
The Coast Guard worked with the Department of Defense on these seizures, catching 19 drug-carrying vessels off the Galapagos Islands of Ecuador, the coast of Venezuela, Mexico, the Dominican Republican, Jamaica and Aruba, the Coast Guard said.

So we've caught more boats than we've blown up? Considering the prices of bombs and missiles, it was probably cheaper too. And, if we were ever wrong about something, at least we could let the innocents go. But now, we spend a lot more money, have impacted far fewer boats, and we'll never know if we were wrong or not because we're blowing up all the evidence. How is this an improvement?Caribbean Hen wrote: ↑Mon Nov 03, 2025 6:31 amTons of info online

I think the big difference is the drug smugglers know the Coast Guard, even with Navy support, can’t be everywhere. They just don’t have enough assets and despite the Coast Guard efforts, it really didn’t discourage these organizations from continuing to illegally transport tons and tons of drugs into the United States.GannonFan wrote: ↑Mon Nov 03, 2025 9:32 amSo we've caught more boats than we've blown up? They just shifted their operations to other routes.
Now, with the military blowing up these boats, the ruthless organizations are in disbelief…. It is discouraging and keeping the numbers of departures down.
I do feel bad for the lowly pawns that are driving these boats because they are now in a situation where they’re gonna get killed if they refuse to go out. And they know what’s happening.
Another way to look at it is drug trafficking organizations have kept the Coast Guard very busy over the past four decades, if Trump is actually able to shut it down significantly, the Coast Guard could keep more assets closer to home and concentrate more on other missions.
Coast Guard better be planning for how they’re gonna explain the necessity for all those big cutters they want if there’s no drug war anymore…

Would you think it was a good thing if Maduro stepped down?
The drug runs are putting a lot of money in the pockets of the corrupt Venezuelan government, and Trump blowing up these boats is really about getting get Maduro out.
Is it a good thing if these drug trafficking organizations have poisoned and killed so many kids? Kids dying of a drug overdose might not be as graphic as blowing up a drug smuggling boat, but ultimately it’s the same thing. Death

US strikes in Caribbean and Pacific breach international law, says UN rights chief
Mr. Türk rejected that argument, stressing that countering illicit drug trafficking is a law-enforcement matter, governed by careful limits on lethal force set out in international human rights law.
He emphasised that the intentional use of lethal force is lawful only as a last resort when individuals pose an imminent threat to life.
“Based on the very sparse information provided publicly by the US authorities, none of the individuals on the targeted boats appeared to pose an imminent threat to the lives of others or otherwise justified the use of lethal armed force against them under international law,” Mr. Türk said.
The High Commissioner called for prompt, independent and transparent investigations into the reported attacks.

The UN is worthless. But, for us, as US citizens, we deserve more details on what's being done and why we have to blow up these boats versus capturing the boats. With the firepower and capabilities we have in the theater now, interdicting these boats and taking them over should be a pretty straightforward operation. Let's capture a few, show people what we're dealing with, and then decide, with Congress, what to do going forward. If we say we're going to blow boats out of the water, let's actually justify that before we start doing it. To date, we haven't justified crap. Rand Paul said that "off the coast of Miami, the Coast Guard will be stopping boats today and about 25% of the boats that they stop that they’re suspicious of drugs, there won’t be any drugs on board. So 25% of the time the suspicion is wrong". If that number is close to accurate for off the coast of Venezuela then trump is guilty of murder for the lives on approximately 25% of the boats we're blowing up. That's too many.

Re: Venezuelan War
The whole "guilty of murder" thing is really no different than the charge against many ex Presidents - Obama pretty much ran an assassination-by-drone thing throughout his Presidency like some kind of one man Star Chamber, W got us into two different theaters of war where the basis for many deaths was questionable at best. Clinton fired off missiles to kill maybe terrorists in far flung parts of the world. But really, the phrasing is meant to be provocative and argumentative. I don't need it to get politically personal, I just need the President to show the evidence of what he's doing and why. If there are drugs on those boats it wouldn't take much to capture even just one. Like I said, we're spending a fortune camping an aircraft carrier group in the Caribbean and we spend a ton every time we fire off an expensive missile. It's actually cheaper and easily more transparent to just capture one of these boats and show off the cargo for everyone to see. We should be getting close to the shutdown ending, so Congress can also take a look at what we caught and give the President authority to keep using force if it's necessary.UNI88 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 04, 2025 11:14 amThe UN isn't completely worthless. Do better.
