The conspiracy theorist in me sees Trump-Clinton-Bloomberg as a New York cabal. If Trump doesn't get the GOP nomination (for instance by being forced out by some controversy or brokered convention establishment power grab), I think he goes third party to ensure a Clinton victory. And I can't really think of the exact scenario, but if Hillary AND Trump were on the ropes, I could see Bloomberg entering to try to force a dynamic.

I see Clinton having a grenade lobbed at her before anything brings down Trump. That's just my opinion.

Even if something comes out against Trump, it'd have to pretty damning. He isn't exactly an unknown, and like Clinton, it seems his supporters don't care.

Does anyone think that 2016 will give us brokered or contested conventions? How about an independent run from a newbie or a former candidate (Sanders)?
I've noticed that Romney has been making a little noise - I'm not sure if that's simply smoke or if there's some fire behind it. If it went Romney as independent vs. Trump vs. Clinton it's a slam dunk for Clinton - it would divide the GOP too much.

If Trumps wins and they take nomination anyway you've got to think he'll run third party. A couple months more campaigning to screw them back...

93 mentioned some talk about Romney waiting in the wings. He's getting ready. Probably flipping through his binders full of women. :coffee:

No. The era of big government -- er, brokered, multiple-ballot, smoke-filled conventions -- is over.

hilldog will pretty much wrap up the donk nomination after tomorrow. :coffee:
They still could. With a difference of 35 pledged delegates, if for some reason Bernie is able to narrow that gap, or take the lead, we can see more of the super delegates switch.

Of course, if an indictment is handed down or something comes out of the Email Server investigation, those SDs may switch to Sanders.

I think HRC will come out on top and be the nominee, nothing sticks to her.
I agree. A indictment is all that can stop hilldog.

And if the conk establishment wrestles the nomination away from Trump via a brokered convention, that will guarantee a Trump 3rd party/independent run and subsequently guarantee hilldog the election. Either way conks are fvcked.

This is an interesting chapter in our history, for sure. Regardless, starting January 2017, we are screwed.

The Donald has a 5% lead in VA with half the votes in, but race is not yet called.

Exit polls in TX and OK looking less good for The Donald, but that was expected. No sweat.

With 75% of the votes, Trump is up 7% in Va. He'll probably win.

Add VA and VT to the Donald's win column. Utter domination.

Cruz takes his home state.

Will Rubio quit tonight? I'd sort of like him to stick around to keep hurting Cruz.

Just an awesome performance by The Donald. :notworthy:

Days like these remind me how lucky I am to be a NoVA native. The rest of VA makes me sad. Except the wine parts...they can vote for whoever the fuck they want as long as they keep making that stuff.

Rubio's night:

AL - 3rd
GA - 3rd
MA - 3rd
OK - 3rd
TN - 3rd
TX - 3rd
VA - 2nd
VT - 3rd

I guess his little attack shtick backfired.

Apparently she loves muslins now. Drone attacks will cease immediately when she's elected. :coffee:
