Obama beat him at every turn, the Conks know it, painfully, so JB's getting benched.

I demand a trial by combat! Well, more like Speaker by combat but you get the gist.Chizzang wrote:Word is its like game of thrones right now in the Republican Congress

You left out the comedic effect. More like the wedding scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.Chizzang wrote:Word is its like game of thrones right now in the Republican Congress

That gives me a boehner.

It's called a "phone and a pen"...and the conk leadership in congress is too big of a pussie to call him out on it...hence the celebration on Boehner resigning. Any leadership with balls stands up to the never ending executive fiat being used on everything and the situation (public resentment) isn't remotely close as to what it is today.∞∞∞ wrote:Boehner has the right idea about how government functions, but he's basically been herding cats on the Republican side. His party screwed him and the Executive branch, particularly in the last 2-3 years, took advantage of the situation.
I'm actually impressed that the Obama administration has been able to flex its muscle so much lately; I always believed his Presidency was weak in its first term and I thought he was going to be really screwed as a lame-duck President with a Republican Congress. But he pretty much said "fuck it" and took reign while Congress hasn't accomplished anything significant nor stopped Obama. Agree or disagree with Obama's policies, it's been remarkable watching the Executive running circles around the Legislative.

What's really pathetic is that we've become government-by-cloture. If the Senate minority party controls 41 votes, that minority can shut down legislation. And both sides have done it.SDHornet wrote:∞∞∞ wrote:Boehner has the right idea about how government functions, but he's basically been herding cats on the Republican side. Conk majority in both houses and they have still let Obama do whatever the **** he wants. It's not just comical, it's absolutely pathetic.

Go nuclear. The donks did it when they were in the majority. So should the Conks. Get rid of the fillibuster. Make everything needing a a simple 51 majority to pass. Having 51-59 votes not being able to override 40+ votes is asinine...Ivytalk wrote:What's really pathetic is that we've become government-by-cloture. You're forgetting that what you suggests takes logic and common sense. Politicians aren't going to do that. I agree with you and Ivy. Republicans have the majority, why not use it? A majority after 2016 isn't a lock. They are wasting time being politicians and not being the statesmen(women) that they should be.BDKJMU wrote:Go nuclear. Well for Obama its good for him that he's been winning on the domestic front, because on the foreign policy front he's been getting his ass handed to him...SDHornet wrote:It's called a "phone and a pen"...and the conk leadership in congress is too big of a pussie to call him out on it...hence the celebration on Boehner resigning. Hey, Cappy, why the "shouting"? Sales of Spam and olive loaf down? And, in the context of your reference to Tel Aviv, your use of the term "Conk hawk dicknose" is anti-Semitic.Cap'n Cat wrote:Oh, really.....?BDKJMU wrote:

"Foreign policy" to **** like you, BKUNT, means spending (no, borrowing from China) two trillion dollars on a positively STOOPID war to defend the **** Ukraine and Crimea, meanwhile killing 10,000 US soldiers, THEN crowing about what a success it was after a few nukes get dropped and Tel Aviv is a pile of dust, you Conk hawk dicknose.
