You have to be kidding me.

And, as CID points out...the DOJ announces they can't pin anything on the police officer who shot the Brown clown. Even said the witnesses who said Brown was holding his hands up were not reliable.

kkklean's mother is still saying Brown was an angel.

Cluck- they aren't just saying they can't pin anything on him- the report completely exonerated the guy and concludes that the shooting was JUSTIFIED.

It's no small wonder DoJ went on a fishing expedition for emails spanning back how long, and having nothing to do with the shooting.

If I were that officer, from now on I'd stay armed even off duty. Somebody even looks at me funny and it's lights out. 7 emails. Going back for years. That equals a "despicable" police department. Maybe they are, but you are willing to believe it based on an obviously politicized fishing expedition for off color jokes in emails. They're tasteless and have no place in business correspondence to be sure, but if you think FPD is "despicable" based on that alone then that's just what you want to believe. I have never defended the department. It might be full of klukkers for all I know. But I HAVE defended the officer because the evidence overwhelmingly pointed to a justified use of deadly force early on.

Here's a couple of thought experiments for you-

1) do you think any of those emails came from the officer in question?

2) If DoJ turned that fishing expedition on itself... went back years in FBI, DEA, USMS emails.... do you think they'd find 7 emails with racial jokes? Or would they find hundreds? Would you like a hint?

I think that it's probably true that their antennae are more likely to perk up when they see "Black" but I think it's the same kind of thing as situations in which Black cab drivers don't want to pick up Black potential customers under certain circumstances. They recognize race as a factor in judging risk of something bad happening.

Expecting police to ignore the reality that Blacks represent a higher risk in the same sense as, for example, young male drivers represent higher risk to auto insurance companies is not rational. It's egalitarianism at it's worst; demanding that people ignore reality because reality conflicts with egalitarian fantasy.

7 emails with zero context. What if these emails were between 2 people? That hardly makes an entire organization racist. What if these two emails were between two people that work at the PD but aren't police? Context is everything, especially when you're vilifying a police department.

I don't k now what you're talking about but look at the voting stats, population demographics and who runs for elections in ferguson and you'll find that the minority (whites) are in the majority. That's a fact. Again, several emails, without knowing who the sender/recipients were isn't much data. If it were between 2 people than that's hardly organizational racism. The emails are tasteless but that's doesn't and shouldn't vilify an entire PD.
