I did, fuckhead, and the fact is there are billions of angry/arrogant religious fanatics all over the world bombing World Trade Centers, starting wars, murdering women and children, undermine civil and human rights, meddling in government, abusing women, bilking the poor and overall being total fucking assholes. They've been doing it for thousands of years.

There are hundreds of angry religious blowhards choking every media with their snake oil, arrogance and venom. Yet about 12, relatively soft spoken, extremely intelligent and tolerant by comparison atheists are a big deal.

I get approached by Christians at times trying to witness to me. Sometimes it's in the parking lot of a store or something. They'll walk up and start taking about how Jesus loves me and such. I pretty much tell them I've already heard what they have to say but thank them for trying to help. I know their hearts are in the right place. I also know it takes guts to do that. My impression of Atheists who "witness" for their point of view, on the other hand, is that they're just pricks. I don't think they're trying to help anyone. On the contrary, they're getting off to shocking and aggravating people. They're into telling you how smart they are (or think they are) and how stupid people who believe in God are.

I'm sure there are plenty of Atheists who mind their own business but it's the pricks that stand out. It's what people see, The ones that stand up and scream "I"M AN ATHEISTS" are the ones people recognize as Atheists so it's no wonder that Atheists are not popular.
