Religion B: and Here's our shiny pile of also completely made up stuff
A) Ours if from the Bronze Age - it's got ancient fables
B) Well ours is from the Iron Age - we've remodeled the fables
These "customers" shopping for a new faith must be the same people who buy used cars from a used car salesman... It's one thing to be indoctrinated as a child into a religion of somebody else choosing... but then to fall for the same trick twice is a measure of stupidity and gullibility reserved for a select few on earth

Would that God ask you to belittle others who don't believe the same as you? Because that is what you are doing.
I find it really hard to stomach your God Cleats. You feel the need to belittle anything you don't believe in - like you could even begin to understand God, even if your version is correct.
I find it unfathomably difficult to believe you understood the Bible. Must be that Ivy league liberal slant that taught you all you need to know.
Where is your humility? Apparently, your faith does not teach that.
That is a swell belief you got there, I can see why the door isn't being beaten down.

Don't be pissed you got absolutely nothing other than trying to degrade Christianity and nothing to stand on.
You have not provided anything positive, just negative.
Why do you think I constantly beat the, "what has atheism given us?". Tell me something positive about what YOU believe instead of taking weak potshots and expecting me to just sit there and take it.

You are simple minded and hypocritical. And when did atheism become a religion?

As for me calling Atheism a religion, I did not do that. I was saying you are hiding behind Christianity by using it as a shield. The typical attack. Say what you want and when I reply in kind, I'm a bad Christian. Typical atheist tactic (Hitchen especially).

Find it interesting that I've never met a practicing muslim from SE Asia. Good friend who's from the Phillipines remarked they're considered 2nd class citizens, often living in segregated regions, Mindanao, Chau Doc...

But you did get something (but only in partial context). You do recognize that you don't practice what you preach. That makes you the equivalent of a kleptomaniac complaining about people stealing things while admonishing those who point out that you are breaking the law.
As to your claim that I am, "hiding behind Christianity by using it as a shield," that is beyond silly and it makes no sense. You are obviously delusional and paranoid since you feel the need to spring into action to insult people who bring up legitimate questions (then again, questioning anything involving a fairy tale is legitimate) about religion.
Cripes, why don't you just get a gun and start shooting people who disagree with or question, aspects of your religion? Maybe you could team up with a Muslin and issue an interdenominational fatwa?
Now, gather your faith and spring forth with another knee jerk defense of yourself, under the guise of defending your all powerful, "Love me and you'll be among my fav peeps who'll enjoy everlasting peace...but f*ck those selfish pricks who don't love me (I mean, who couldn't love me), including the Joos (they made me look mean, angry, and bad in the prequel, so they won't be playing harps and eating bagels and lox when the curtain falls)" god.
Hey, your cheeks are red. You should try some mental yoga...maybe tai chi...to lower that blood pressure level.

Okay back on topic.. Andy was pointed in the right direction
When one believes in "The infallible word of God"
and the associated consequences of denial of the "One Truth" (ie: Burn in hell etc.etc.)
to then - switch - to another exactly worded religion with identical claims and consequences - with it's only exception being its written in a different language at a different time... is a measure of ridiculousness that I can't hurdle... BUT: To go from one closed door end of times faith to say Yoga Masters or Self Help and inner peace .. sure okay (you see...?)
To your point:
I have only a few problems with people who are raised into a religion and hold that faith for a lifetime
but mostly those folks are the hearty bulk of our entire population here in the grand ol' USA
My primary problem isn't with them (the brainwashed child) it is with those who insert the book and thus to a large degree end the battle - the very necessary internal war of TRUTH... which I believe stunts growth and closes more doors than it opens, once one has been handed "The Answer" rare does one continue the search for what defines them...

Re: Islam: Religion of Peace
I don't know if we should care from the standpoint of our own personal interests because, if the threat is to be fully realized, we'll all be dead by the time that it is. But if we care about our descendants we should care about Islam because it is a serious threat to civilization as we know it and the concept of a free people.
I think that it's a mistake to do that thing where people say it's just a small minority perverting a beautiful religion. I think that the core theology of Islam includes the idea of forcing everyone to either be Muslim or be a slave. And I think it includes the imposition of strict Sharia Law. I think that Muslims will continue to push and continue to try to have the entire planet under Sharia Law. I think it is like a slow moving, creeping cancer that is growing and will continue to grow; in part because we of Western Civilization refuse to be honey with ourselves about the nature of the threat.
I heard a couple of former Muslim pundits on the Sean Hannity Radio Show driving home from work the other day. Can't remember their names. One female from I don't know where and one male from Iran. They were talking about how people who think that what we're seeing in things like Boko Haram involves Muslim extremists who don't really follow the faith don't know Islam. They said that's what Islam is. I remember the guy saying the Koran is a book of hate, how he decided to leave Islam when one day he actually sat down and read the thing from cover to cover.
He said you can't address a problem until you admit it exists. He said if you have a health problem you can't fix it until you diagnose it. Said if you've got something wrong with your car you can't fix it until you identify the problem. And he said we in the west will not come to grips with the truth about what the problem is. We want to pretend that it's not Islam itself that's causing the issue but Islam itself IS the issue.
Of course I understand people will dismiss the conversation because it was on the Sean Hannity show. But it's just an example. To me anyone who has eyes to see can see what those two were saying as the truth unless they just don't want to see.

Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?
Deep Purple: No One Came

And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?
Deep Purple: No One Came
