My brother voted for him this morning.

I voted for him, joining my friend c-grad and out-conking DD and Chizzy I will have you know!
Honestly and regardless of whether you're in a swing state or not, if you think serious changes need to happen and you voted for Obama or Romney, you just wasted a vote and you are part of the problem.

So what I read from this thread is that some people only vote for "principle" if their state is going a certain way no matter what.
That's not voting for principle.

Not so fast, my friend. I voted for principle in 2008 and 2012. Both times I voted libertarian, and both times North Carolina was a battleground state. Nice try, though.CID1990 wrote:So what I read from this thread is that some people only vote for "principle" if their state is going a certain way no matter what.

Re: Post here if you voted for Gary Johnson
It's more principle than voting for someone only because you rather not have the other guy in office. And its not that we're voting for someone BECAUSE our state is going one way or the other, we're voting for someone even though our state is going one way or the other. If I lived in Ohio or Florida I would still vote for Johnson.CID1990 wrote:So what I read from this thread is that some people only vote for "principle" if their state is going a certain way no matter what.

That's a good question. He might still have lost. The Republican base would have either still turned out to vote against Obama or would have just stayed home. I asked 89hen in another thread why this was the case, but it's clear that Republicans despise conservatives.kalm wrote:How would Johnson have fared if he had been the Republican nominee?

Huh? Johnson withdrew last December as a R candidate. How was anyone to vote for him as an R in the pirmaries?ASUMountaineer wrote:That's a good question. He might still have lost. We have a disconnect somewhere. You've clearly implied twice now that because Johnson didn't get more votes, that proves Republicans hate conservatives. Is that not what you meant to say?ASUMountaineer wrote:It was a hypothetical question. Are you intentionally being dense today?89Hen wrote: Huh? Johnson withdrew last December as a R candidate.
