You did know that the White House traditionally releases text of the speech to the Congressional leaders days before the actual speech, and also to the press the day before the speech, right?

Obama never even ATTEMPTED to accomplish virtually every promise he made in his 2011 SOTU speech.

Yet last night, he repeated many of those same promises.

Did Obama lie, or is he merely grossly incompetent?

What's really remarkable is most Republicans/Conservatives realized Bush Jr. was the sharpest tool in the shed so only extreme nut jobs like Limbaugh would blindly defend his incompetence.

Then you step up to blindly defend the Dem's cull, Obama.

Not so remarkable when you consider they have about the same IQ as a school of jellyfish.

Not so fast, my Conk friends.

First, I ask, "Why isn't someone as sharp as Mitch Daniels running for President instead of the clown circus that's been forced on us?" Though he's a Conk to the bone, the guy is calm, intelligent and convincing. A refreshing breath of air in what is a highly embarrassing primary season for both Conks and the entire nation. I wouldn't vote for the guy, but I was highly impressed. I shook my head at some of the things he had to say about the President's address, but went away thinking that there are smart Conks out there who could be great leaders on the national scene.

Conks need to get their house in order and a guy like him is the place to start.

Because anyone smart enough to make a great political leader is also smart enough not to run.

I have been long convinced that the type of person most likely to run for national office is much more likely to have been a charismatic idiot than an actual achiever. This applies across the board, so save the Ronald Reagan pics.

A died-in-the-wool pot smoking, porn addict Liberal had the honesty to admit his (somewhat) admiration for the demeanor of a Conk politician. You see, what The Cap'n is doing is emulating the spirit of bipartisanship espoused by people like Obama and Nancy Pelosi and Gabby Giffords and trying to expand it to this very divisive forum. And, I'm not alone - I swear I saw John Boehner start to well up when Obama was talking about getting together as Americans to solve our important issues.
