Are any of the justices evangelicals? Coney Barrett's religious beliefs might qualify as extreme but I'm sure they're evangelical.

I disagree with Baldy but you're throating sh!t at the wall to see what sticks isn't helping.

Alito may or may not be an evangelical but he sure does seem to carry a lot of water for them these days

Need I post pics of the other 4 justices who give the far right the large majority?
You can post whatever you like.

Doesn't make your point any less insubstantial.

Thanks for piling on. :ohno:

Regardless…evangelicals have more influence on government than I’d like to see and they are a significant voting block within the Republican Party. More so than the trans movement is to the Dems.

If you haven't read much about the rise of the Inquisition (French history is also rife with examples), I highly recommend you do so. One can find many parallels in their actions and speech with just about all of the modern political and socitial movements, especially in the last 3 or 4 years

The inquisition eh?

That kind of religious purity movement certainly seems like it would fit in today.

If you focus on the religious aspect of purity movements, you can avoid the reality that the left has its own purity movements that they pursue with a similar self-righteous zeal.

Well aware of left side purity movements (See DSA meeting posted here a while back). Or PETA. Or corporate woke culture. Or tankies. But thank you.

That is just a very small list of movements that fit the same purity profile but glad to see that they are on your radar. :thumb:

BTW: Monty Python is some of my favorite humor out there. Just as relevant today as when it was made. They will still be around long after today's comedy has bitten the dust.

I find it humorous some of the most anti-religious organizations out there bear similar marks to the organizations they oppose.

It's not just the translunatics. They're just a one strand of the vast cancerous illiberal progressive orthodoxy.

Anyhow, it's been a few days now and you folk still haven't come up with anything except a powerless Congressional backbencher who has never passed a single piece of legislation.

Still no examples of the mass influence of evangelicals in media, education, entertainment, and the greater government bureaucracy. I'll come back again in a day or two to see if you can provide any examples.

Try and do better. Good luck

So we’re moving the goal posts now? Are Catholics back in the game? How about the military and LE?

Can we start with the number of trans in Congress?

How many millions of people believe that:
- trump won in 2020?
- January 6 was no big deal?
- trump is fighting the deep state for them?
- and so on …

Those people are as dangerous as the woke mob and a big chunk of them are evangelicals.

Technology has changed how influence works. Social media has made it so mob influence can be just as powerful as the MSM or front bench politicians.

All I simply said was that the evangelicals have no power.

The one who has the power is the one who makes the rules and the 'woke mob' is the one who's dictating the narrative in the media, governmental bureaucracy (elected officials are not the bureaucracy), entertainment, education, etc.

Do you sincerely believe the evangelicals and the 'woke mob' are on even ground when it comes to setting the narrative in those areas?

No I don't. The woke mob clearly has the upper hand in California, Oregon, NYC, etc. while the evangelical mob clearly has the upper hand in Florida, Idaho, Texas, etc.

Just as millions of left-wingers get their information from biased MSM and government sources, millions of right-wingers get their information from echo chambers where opinions and conspiracy theories are amplified and considered truth. Just because the information in those echo chambers isn't influenced by traditional sources does not mean that the mob itself isn't influential. You could make a valid argument that the evangelical mob got donald trump elected. Isn't that influence?

The film came under scrutiny last month when a parent at North Shore Elementary School filed a complaint, objecting to the movie’s use of slurs and arguing it could teach students that “White people hate Black people,” CNN previously reported.
Will Governor Karen DeSantis allow this?

Pflugerville librarian: You can't ban their books and read yours too
As one of your cataloging librarians, I am no exception to this rule. I come across new books that I am glad to see enter our collection and I also come across some books that frankly make me want to throw them in the trash. As a matter of integrity and dedication to the institution I work for, however, I promise that those books don’t end up in the trash. They go on our shelves along with all the books I like because it is not my place to tell our guests that they shouldn’t read or watch something made available to the public if that is what they choose. The existence of books I dislike in our library guarantees a place in our collection for the books that I am happy to see, and that is something that everyone should realize applies to their favorite books, movies and other library resources. It’s all delicately balanced.

Good article. :thumb: Something both sides should pay attention to.
A Tennessee library director has been fired for presumably attempting to undermine one of Kirk Cameron’s story hours in Hendersonville, TN. The popular Christian actor has been drawing huge crowds for his events ever since it was learned that many libraries nationwide were aggressively trying to silence his message of faith, freedom, family, and love of country.

Along with the fed govt bureaucracy, most MSM, entertainment, education, most major corportations (see all the pushing of DEI and trans ideolgy, ginormous sums given to BLM). Baldy is right.

I disagree. They don't have more influence. They've leveled the playing field and a bunch of entitled straight, white, Christian Karens, can't handle not being in charge after hundreds of years of domination.
