This is not a news item, but rather an observation:
"Resist" stickers appear to have replaced "Coexist" stickers on the majority of Priuses, Foresters, and Outbacks in the People's Republic of Maryland.
Why don't liberals want diversity, peace, and harmony anymore?

Guess they didn’t want to hear the good news.
A US tourist has reportedly been killed by a community of hunter-gatherer people living on an isolated island in the Bay of Bengal between India and Myanmar.
John Allen Chau, 27, was shot dead by people wielding bows and arrows after illegally traveling to North Sentinel Island last week, according to reports confirmed by authorities to AFP and Reuters.

After the tsunami in 2005 they sent a helicopter out there to check on those tribes and they shot arrows at the helicopter

THAT right there is the mistake that liberals unknowingly make. They think that everybody is wired like they are and have the same desires, feelings, drive, interests, etc. as they do.Pwns wrote:Bet he had already heard about the island but thought they were all just "racist stereotypes" and thought "all cultures are equally good".kalm wrote:Guess they didn’t want to hear the good news.
Sure, it would be a more peaceful world if that is the case, but it's not even close and there is nothing that can be done about it without genetic modification.

So you think in general that people are genetically predisposed to "good" or violence instead of culturally predisposed to "good" or violence?CAA Flagship wrote:THAT right there is the mistake that liberals unknowingly make. In general? No. I think environment has a lot to do with it but I believe environment doesn't move the genetic needle very far. Maybe a 20 yard drive at best, but that could leave you on your side of the field still.kalm wrote:So you think in general that people are genetically predisposed to "good" or violence instead of culturally predisposed to "good" or violence?CAA Flagship wrote: THAT right there is the mistake that liberals unknowingly make. I don't know, are there? In any event, trying to paint this as something a "typical liberal" would do is just more nonsense from the usual suspects.Col Hogan wrote:So, are there no liberal missionaries???Grizalltheway wrote:I love how you guys just assume he was a liberal.![]()

People are born with evil tendencies, look how some babies manipulate their parents. At least the missionary felt he had a purpose for going there and made an informed decision unlike that couple who decided there was no threat in walking cross Afghanistan.

Actually those two things are equally stupid. The fact that he had different motivations doesn't really change that.css75 wrote:People are born with evil tendencies, look how some babies manipulate their parents. I seem to remember reading an article in the WSJ that stated Venezuela was looking at implementing something of the same to help eliminate the black market that has sprung up in the country. The same Chinese company that set up this system had signed a agreement to provide a proposal to the Venezuelan government on a cost/timeline to implement the same system.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles ... nd-of-2020Beijing to Judge Every Resident Based on Behavior by End of 2020
China’s plan to judge each of its 1.3 billion people based on their social behavior is moving a step closer to reality, with Beijing set to adopt a lifelong points program by 2021 that assigns personalized ratings for each resident.
The capital city will pool data from several departments to reward and punish some 22 million citizens based on their actions and reputations by the end of 2020, according to a plan posted on the Beijing municipal government’s website on Monday. Those with better so-called social credit will get “green channel” benefits while those who violate laws will find life more difficult.
The Beijing project will improve blacklist systems so that those deemed untrustworthy will be “unable to move even a single step,” according to the government’s plan. Xinhua reported on the proposal Tuesday, while the report posted on the municipal government’s website is dated July 18.
